Did you hear? It’s going to be a White Christmas across the Eastern Seaboard of the United States!
Of course, there’s snow – and then there’s snow. Dreaming of a white Christmas, then waking to blizzard-like conditions, a record-breaking snowstorm, and National Guard activation are two entirely different things!
Although it’s not snowing here, my Mom – who’s supposed to visit in a few days – is in the midst of the storm. Let’s pray that this storm soon passes, the roads and runways clear, and Mom – as well as the other holiday travelers – arrive safely and on schedule!
By the way, we only dream of snow here…we are expecting it to be a balmy 68 degrees on Christmas day!
Because of the East Coast snow storm, today’s Christmas card has been pre-empted by my Winter Wonder ATC. The beautiful blue and snowflake background is a piece of wide ribbon I received from blog follower Wendy W in a color ATC swap last year. I loved the idea of using wide ribbon as a fabric background – I have several pieces of it in my stash! Because the ribbon remnant she sent me was not large enough to cover the card, I covered the bottom with additional cardstock and fabric, layered it with an appropriate word (guess what song I was thinking of when I created this card!), and added Silver Stickles to the edges.
I like it! I have some ribbon to play with too, maybe next year. Hope your Mom makes it there safely.
I wish it was going to be 68 here on Christmas! That's sounds sooo nice to me! I'll happily trade you ALL the SNOW and cold for a nice warm and sunny Christmas!
Hi Chris,
Thanks for thinking of my mom – we are praying here for her safe and on-time arrival!
Do give the ribbon idea a try when you can – you'll love it and find it opens up some new avenues of creativity for your ATCs!
Lisa,
I hope you DO have some sun and warmth in time for Christmas – I will try to send some your way! 🙂
