Monday morning, when I walked into the Paper Palace, this was the sight that greeted me. It was not a pretty picture, to say the least. It was, quite frankly, a MESS. Now, I’ve tolerated bigger messes before – after all, there was still some usable space on the desk – but I wasn’t feeling well that day and something inside of me snapped. “This is it,” I decided. “No more. It’s time to clean off my desk!” 
Now, those who know me know that I’ve struggled to maintain a functional workspace over the years. The Paper Palace never seems quite palatial enough to meet my storage needs; things tend to accumulate faster than they’re used. However, my crafting area is in great condition compared to when I first started my organizational odyssey. Here’s a peek at what my workspace looked like 3 years ago!
Nonetheless, I decided to officially begin work on this year’s goal of beautifying the Paper Palace. Yesterday, I gathered all of the 6 x 6 paper I could find and organized it in my new baskets. One basket contains paper pads – the other contains loose sheets that I will consolidate at a later date!
Today, I picked a corner of my desk to focus on. I decided to clear up the area in front of my ink pads because I wanted to make a card today. In previous photos, you can’t really see it because of all of the clutter. Now, I can easily reach my ink pads again!Right now, things are piled higher than I want them to be, but for now, I can feel the balance being restored as the chaos clears.

Hey Ramona, what you are doing is a good thing! I recently sorted my papers too and I can't tell you how much more efficiently I'm using up scraps rather than breaking into whole sheets – you certainly have a lot of paper, but I wasn't too shocked by your photos. Really glad you have you in the WOYWW nutters circle…do you feel better since you've 'gone public'!!
Completely forgot to say….squinting, turning myhead, holding screen at odd angles…can't see the bug in that green cord!! Stephanie is my sweet sister – she ran away to CA about 17 years ago and left me behind in the UK; got me into stamping. I got stuck she's moved on to real textiles!
Love the tour Ramona, you have a fantastic workspace, and you paper storage in the baskets has given me a great idea too. I need something like that! Love the "tower of inks" too! Thanks for shaing.

My moggies seem to like laying on my projects during the night so i find hairs in sticky bits next day!!!

Hi Ramona, how are you sweetie? this looks lovely! I have slowly been clearing my room but each time it gets tidy. I buy some more stash or have to make somethings 2 or 3 cards or hangers and its right back where i started. lol
