Altered Mini-Album

Altered Mini Book

Happy Friday Everyone! Today I’m unveiling the third and final bonus gift I’ll be sending to one special person who entered my OWOH giveaway – a little mini-album that I stamped and decorated using Stamping Up products! When you open the album, it reveals eight decorated panels. You can glimpse inside the album below.

Oh, I love all of them but I can see my great grand-daughter in the album. Gee, I'd at least like the measurements for the album. Maybe I can make one. Any one of them would be a wonderful gift for someone.

    Hi Everyone,

Glad you liked this mini-album! Here are the dimensions you requested:

    1) When you view the closed front cover, the dimensions are 3.75 inches high by 4 inches wide. To make this, you will cut a strip of 12 x 12 sheet of paper down to 3.75 inches by 12 inches. You will make folds at the 3.75 and 4 inch marks and at the 7 7/8 and 8 inch marks to allow for the thickness you will need for the interior of the book. When you look at the picture, the yellow you see is the right flap folding inward; the red you see is the left flap folding over it.

2)The interior pages, folded, measure at 3.5 x 3.5 inches square. To create them, you will need to cut three strips from a 12 x 12 sheet measuring 3.5 x 12. Since your 3.5 inch folds add up to 10.5 inches (not 12), you can trim the excess off the ends and fold the panels into 3 squares.

    3) You then need to line up the folding panels so that they will open up into the folding pages. On two of the panels, you will need to overlap the strips and "connect" them together to get the accordian book effect. On the third panel, you will need to connect it to the base of the cover.

Once you have these basics down, you can cut your patterned papers to size and add any stamped images, tags, embellishments, etc. that you like to complete the book.

I hope this all makes sense! If you try it, please let us know as we'd love to see your creations! 🙂
