WOYWW 21 – Do It Yourself Card Kits

This week, life has gotten in the way of crafting, but in my spare moments, I’ve been gathering supplies and assembling card kits to make my crafting time a little more efficient. This is one of the card kits I’m currently working on. I love peacocks, so I was thrilled to find this beautiful die cut while assembling a color-themed kit built around the patterned paper. I probably won’t finalize the items until I sit down to work on the card – items I’m thinking of incorporating include stamps, ink pads, distressing tools, and possibly paisley chipboard, ribbon, and circular embellishments.

I’m also preparing to make some cards using Basic Grey’s Bittersweet Card Kit – a beautiful blend of pink and brown papers, with die cuts, chipboard and rub-ons included for good measure. I’ve been searching for the perfect embellishments to customize the cards and have found two perfect complements for these papers – Maya Road’s Velvet Blossoms – Water (the brown and pink flowers add such a beautiful touch!) and Basic Grey’s Designer Half Pearls – Opaline in the browns. I plan on posting the first card shortly so be on the look out!

Now, if you have not already done so, be sure to stop by and register for my Altered Pages Collage Sheet Giveaway! The fourth and final sheet of the month is posted – The Color Purple – and the contest will close in a few days. So far, 12 happy ladies have won a prize – could you be next?

Thanks for stopping by – please leave a note so I’ll know you visited – then, for more What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday fun, hop over to Julia’s to see what the gang is up to this week!  Happy crafting!

Those card kits are handy, I bet. Your work space looks neat but maybe that's because I can't see much of it (grin). I'm not a scrapbooker, but I love Basic Gray. Can't wait to see what you make with those flowers.

I'm now off to read about your ribbon storage. That intrigues me.
