Woman Of Faith

A Woman Of Faith at Create With Joy

I’ve been wanting to start a scrapbook about my spiritual journey for quite some time, so when I saw this week’s challenge at Practical Scrappers – Acrylic, Vellum, & Transparencies – I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to delve into the supplies I’ve been stashing and get to work!

This is the cover page for my album. I created a collage to represent some of the things that come to mind when I think about faith. I love the image of the woman in the background – to me she represents thought, contemplation, meditation, prayer, the intellect which at times questions, doubts, and believes – in contrast to, or sometimes in conjunction with, the heart, which is also represented on the page. The words represent the great writings of our faith. The butterfly reflects faith’s transformative qualities.

Time is important when it comes to faith – life is short, and what we believe, the decisions we make, and how we choose to live our lives matter – so clocks appear more than once. Faith gives meaning to our lives as indicated by the key. And my biggest spiritual challenge – to trust God with all my heart – is also journaled on the page.

The supplies I used to create this layout include:

  • Creative Imaginations Narratives Transparencies by Karen Russell
  • Epoxy Elements by K & Company
  • Butterfly from Storytellers
  • Magistical Memories Clock Face
  • Making Memories Asphalt and Blue Raspberry Acrylic Paints

I shared this layout with the gals at Craftalicious Challenges – they launched their new fortnightly challenge blog today! Their first challenge theme is New – and this is the first layout for my new faith album!

I also shared this layout with the gals at The Sisterhood Of Crafters who kicked off the month of June with a Color Challenge – baby blue, cream, white, and pearl! Thank you gals for awarding me your Top Sister Award for this special piece of art!
