Welcome to What’s On Your Workspace Wednesday! Today, I wanted to share the precious sight that greeted me when I walked into my studio this morning – two bright-eyed, bushy-tailed Maine Coons who wanted nothing more than love, hugs, and a romp with their Mom and their favorite chase toy! As you can see, they are happy that I cleaned off their desk for the Where The Princess Creates transformation, since they believe that all spaces, big or small, are meant for them to fill!
Speaking of spaces, since you’ve seen where I create, I thought it would be fun to show you how I create.
First, I try to find a large surface to create on whenever possible as I need room to spread my creative wings. That’s one of the reasons I picked this desk – when it is clear, there is a lot of space to play on!
Next, I try to gather the supplies I know I will need for the project at hand. As I begin a project, I am usually fairly organized – I try to keep everything around me in its ordained place, and I try to set things aside or put them away as I’m able to keep my space neat and clear.
As the project proceeds, my mind begins to churn with new possibilities and ideas. What if I do this? What if I try that? Soon I find myself hunting and gathering new supplies to play and experiment with. As I get caught up in the creative process, organization takes a back seat to originality, and order soon morphs into mess!
By the project’s end, creative chaos ensues, and my desk looks like this!
Fortunately, it isn’t staying this way these days, as everything is starting to have its own home!
Now, I’d like to give a shout out to some special friends! First, I’d like to thank Julia, our WOYWW hostess at Stamping Ground, for the very special gift she sent me – and the other 100+ participants – who created a What’s On Your Workspace Altered Challenge to commemorate the 1st year anniversary of this group a few weeks ago! This was a wonderful token of your friendship and appreciation, and I will display and use it proudly, along with the Altered Mailbox I created for the occasion!
Next, I’d like to thank Elizabeth and Bluebeard at Altered Book Lover for honoring me as their blog of the day! I’d also like to extend a special welcome to those of you who have stopped by as a result of Elizabeth and Bluebeard’s endorsement, and encourage those of you who read my blog to stop by and pay them a visit! In case you are wondering, Bluebeard is Elizabeth’s beautiful blue cat who, reputedly, is not allowed on the furniture, much to Legend and Tsunami’s chagrin! Of course, I say reputedly, because there have been alleged sightings of Bluebeard on the outdoor furniture (oh my! check that sidebar!) and in her studio (if you can imagine that!) When Elizabeth is not photographing these transgressions, she is busy at work creating the most wonderful books, journals, and tutorials for us to explore!
Finally, I’d like to remind you – this is the last week to enter my giveaway where you can win one or all of the beautiful Altered Pages digital collage sheets shown here! These sheets are fabulous, so don’t miss out!
I look forward to reading your comments as always and to visiting as many of your blogs this week as I can! Have a fabulous week and I look forward to sharing something new and exciting with you in the next day or two!
Wow, I left a message and the screen rolled to a different blog. I have no idea what happened. I will add your link when Julia puts the linky up. The "kids" look lovely as ever. They are bright eyed, too! Unlike me, ready for bed.
Thanks for the lovely comments and sweet words about me and my blog. YOU are the one who was supposed to be honored today, and I end up feeling like the Queen. How sweet of you.
Still loving that craft room, even though you seem to have found a use for the lovely and spacious desk. Have a very happy WOYWW.

WOW! You could land a plane on that! Wonderful space and now you seem to have installed the tidy up gene too – perfection! Can't help but morph into messy, I barely know the direction I'm going when I start. Your desk is high – you stand?

Have a great day,

What a fabulous space. I think that I could even be organised in a space like that.
holy moly…you're so organized and I LOVE to see pictures of your cats!!
I always love checking out WOYWW entries by the folks I visit regularly- but I have to admit, I just can't imagine being able to get around to all the blogs each week! How do you do it and still have time to create such beautiful work? Also, as we speak, *my* cat Peri is camped out on my desk observing my blog travels and waiting patiently for "our" work day to begin……
Cheers,
Stephanie
such a great blog to read, cant wait to get our kittens, I think Ill be a "anywhere goes" kind of owner as I am with our pooh bear (dog) I know dont ask lol
What a greeting to come down to, and the chaos that you end up with is the same for me, i get out what i think is all i need and before i know it im vanishing under the chaos

Wow what a huge area – you are soooo lucky – will have to wait for my girls to leave home before my area expands….waiting for my WOYWW to come through the post…so organised with your ribbons etc – fantastic
What luxury, to have a table that spacious! I am always so cramped! Patsy from
HeARTworks
Oh that's a fab desk space, it's soo big!!
Can so relate to the "morph"!!!! I need a bigger desk for sure! Really like how you have everything laid out and organized so nicely.
i just want to dive in and give those boys a great big cuddle and scruch their fur (in a nice way) LOL – they are just so beautiful :O)
I NEVER realised how big your crafting space was – prob cos you camoflage it well with your stuff (that is my polite way of saying you can't normally see if for stuff)!!!:O)
I love what you created = but surely you didn't need a massive desk to do it on (me jests and is just so envious that i have a postage stamp size to craft on) LOL
Off to look at last weeks pics of the boys like you said in your e-mail (thanks for that again by the way)…

I am totally in love with your cats…. and your work station …maybe that is the problem I'm having …I NEED to spread and there isn't anywhere to spread to at the moment.
beautiful kitties, they look like they adore their Mummy. great space, made me chuckle as the mess accumulated.
wow what a brilliant space for crafting, I am very envious
sweetie – that is NOT chaos, that is an orderly person's chaos! Come see me if you want a picture of chaos….
I have 15 feet of desk space – and I end up in a 12×12 inch working space,
when i paint I use my easel – it's the only way I can protect my work!….
