WOYWW 48: A Year Of Marjolein Bastin

My 2011 Appointment Book – Isn’t It Pretty?

One of my favorite year-end rituals involves the annual search for the perfect appointment book. Over the years, I have tried them all – artsy, business, whimsical, corporate, electronic, pocket, desktop, wall – in an attempt to find the perfect book to inspire me, organize me, and manage my days!

Two Page Calendar Spreads Are A Must For Me

This week, after crinkling my nose at the selection in my local bookstore, I stopped by a Hallmark store and found this gorgeous date book featuring the art of the renown Dutch artist Marjolein Bastin.

I Thought You Might Enjoy A Peek Inside

I immediately fell in love with Marjolein’s beautiful watercolor paintings, her delicate handwritten notes, and the soft colors throughout. I liked the design of the book as well. So – for just a few dollars (thanks to the $10 coupon in my pocket) – I have a beautiful new book to record the events of the new year!

There Are Lots Of Beautiful Floral & Nature Scenes Inside –
I Just Happen To Love Her Animal Art!

So I’m curious … do you use traditional paper calendars and appointment books to mark your days or do you record this information electronically? How about address books and journals?

Lovely new calendar, dear. I don't use a calendar. I never have anywhere I have to go. I use my computer (lower right hand corner) to see the date and time, but that's it. I'm probably a big disappointment in that department (grin).

That is a great diary. You'll get a little bit of beauty every day in 2011. Me, I use my computer calendar for appointments and a page a day diary for drawing every day. Nothing nearly as beautiful as you have.

    Thanks for sharing.

Visiting today from iFellowship. I love your new planner. I use a big desk planner and color code all of our family member's appointments. Not very pretty, but practical.

  16. Serendipity Stamping says:

Such a lovely book to keep track of comings & goings. I use all three methods and still don't know which end is up most of the time, LOL.

  17. Vagabond Carnival says:

How lovely! Usually I just use one of the plain templates downloaded off the Microsoft Word site. In my case, I've found I use them more than dedicated planners. Now blank notebooks are a TOTALLY different story, lol.

Nice date book. My ideal is ringbound ( I like it to sit flat when open) and a week to view. I prefer an beautiful tooled leather but mostly buy something in the sales…I have my eye on a moelskine for 2011 though, even to the point of compromising over the binding!

  20. Elizabeth says:

Beautiful planner, I'm sure it will inspire you to keep your diary up to date. My husband bought me my 2011 diary already – just an ordinary one with no illustrations but it does the job. I nipped over and your card is great. Elizabeth #85

I was just looking at appointment books yesterday! I keep a pocket sized calendar that slips into my purse every year. I'll transfer to other electronic spots etc, but that is my easy little cheapo go to spot. I keep them all together in my office for easy reference – they go back about 10 years. Also, loved the asian green beans – looked so yummy and healthy!

    what a pretty calendar. I've tried them all too. I have a pocket calendar in my purse that I rarely use a wall calendar in the kitchen that we use occasionally and the electronic one on the computer that I use all the time. Must get a smart phone and sync it up so I can be organized all the time. Someday {sigh}

  32. curlie girlie says:

Don't you love starting a new appointment book/planner each year? Something about a fresh start feels so good! I love finding just the right planner, yours is beautiful!
