Craft Room Organization –
Ribbon, Fiber, & Floss

Fiber Mania

What’s on your workspace this week? If the answer is lots of loose ribbons, fibers and floss, here’s an easy way to get these items in order!

Pick up a few packs of inexpensive floss cards and a slotted box at your local craft store. Wrap up your loose ribbons and fibers, then sort them in your storage box based on color, texture, or style!

You’ll find it much easier to create your next masterpiece when you have the perfect accents at your fingertips. You’ll also enjoy the display of pretty colors that brighten up your room – and, you’ll love how convenient it is to tote your treasures from craft room to crop!

Exactly what I do! The only downside is if you have more than will fit on the card… and that is where all mine goes wrong!! I have to admit it can be quite therapeutic to sit and wind all those ribbons onto the cards!!

What a great organizing idea!! It’s funny I just had my big jar of ribbons dumped out on my desk a few days ago and I decided to sort them a bit. But your idea is better! I will keep this in mind if my new “method” doesn’t work out!
I am having a giveaway on my blog if you would like to come and enter!

    Hello from the Alexa hop!

My project has nothing to do with floss or fibers (scrapbooking with a pre-made book and some cardstock pieces), but I will second on the importance of those floss cards. My mother does the embroidery in the family and she has a lovely organizing system for her floss; it’s all arranged by color and very easy to look through.

This would also be great for small strands of scrap yarn or eyelash yarn. I know a lot of people who, like me, got all excited when Hobby Lobby started selling eyelash yarn for pennies on the dollar, then actually used it and realized WHY it was on sale! 😛

  32. I have some craft room organizing that I would like to get done! Right now my craft room has had to be turned in to a bedroom for 3 granddaughters. However, I have in mind the cubby organizing I want to do. It’s just figuring out how to afford it that’s the biggest problem.
I’m stopping and looking around from the Alexa blog hop.

  33. Doni says:

Yum! I love all the pretty colors! I have a huge mess on my table right now! LOTS to put away before I can get started on another project! I’ve recently moved out a huge bookcase and replaced it with a smaller unit, so of course that means a huge overhaul!
So glad you joined me for Pearls and Lace ! Come back this week and see what I found!!
    Blessings, Doni
