WOYWW: Red Star Yeast Challenge Prize

Red Star Yeast Prize - Bread Loaf Pan & Yeast

Happy WOYWW, dear friends! Today is a special day – it’s my 2 year Blogaversary! I want to thank each of you who take the time to visit and comment on my blog, and I want to give a special shout-out to those of you who have been following my blog from the early days! I value each and every one of you, and look forward to seeing where this next year takes us!

Be sure to enter my 2nd Blogaversary Giveaway for a chance to win something special!

Speaking of special…

Last week, I received word from Ott A that I won my first Iron Chef Challenge! The theme was Baking with Red Star Yeast, and my winning recipe was Chocolate Babka! If you like to make delicious treats for the holidays, you will definitely want to check this recipe out – each batch makes three loaves and is so decadent, you will want an excuse to splurge!

Today, I received my fabulous prize from Red Star Yeast, and I just had to share my goodies with you! First, they sent me a commercial bread loaf pan and several packets of Active Dry Yeast and Quick Rise Yeast for baking. Now, I have to tell you – this bread loaf pan is the heaviest, sturdiest pan I think I’ve ever held! I love the beautiful embossed logo inside. Now I know they intended that bread loaf pan to be used for baking, but it’s so cool, I’m actually thinking of incorporating it into my craft room!

Red Star Yeast Prize - The Kneaded Loaf Cookbook & Baking Thermometer

Next, they sent me a thermometer (which is very useful for checking the temperature of your yeast!) and a wonderful cookbook called The Kneaded Loaf. I like this book so much that I will probably do a separate post on it when I am done reading it. If you are interested in learning how to bake bread, this is a great book to start with! What I like about this book is that it makes baking real bread accessible to everyone!

Red Star Yeast Prize - Apron & Oven Mitts

Finally, they sent me an adorable apron (don’t you just love that saying?) and 2 brand new oven mitts – something I definitely need, because Prince Charming has a way of transforming all of my pristine oven mitts into mitts that look like they weathered an outdoor sports event! As a matter of fact, when he saw those mitts, his eyes lit up as he counted the ways to claim them for his own – but, his plans were soon foiled when he realized that they were a perfect fit for my pretty Princess hands – and much too small for his hunky palms!

If you love to bake, be sure to visit Red Star Yeast where you’ll not only learn lots of fabulous baking tips, but you’ll also discover how you can earn these gifts (and more) just by using their products!

Have a fabulous WOYWW – but before you go, leave some comment love and check out these links!

What an awesome prize to win. I am like you I think I would use the baking pan for something else. My grandmother was a big Red Star yeast person and would have me drive her to another grocery to purchase that brand. Congrats again. Vickie

Wonderful lot of bread stuff! Congratulations on your win. I used to make all my bread by hand and loved it… Nowadays we have a bread maker and it does a good job! I’ve perfected my own recipe which has lots of lovely seeds in it, and we both enjoy it toooo much!

Reading your lovely quote about creativity – if you want to see my creative take on His creativity, have a look at my Clementine photo on this week’s WOYWW on my blog!

    Happy WOYWW.

  18. What a wonderful prize. You have inspired me to get baking again after a very long break from that activity. Fresh home made bread is just in another league from the shop bought stuff. I am also looking for recipes to make decent gluten free bread – our grandaughter is a coeliac, and all the shop bought gluten free stuff tastes disgusting and has a totally revolting texture. Any ideas gratefully received. In the meantime, have fun with all your new things.

  19. DM says:

congratulations on your winnings! It’s impressive. How fun to get all those neat gifts.
