Congratulations, Liz, for being our first Featured Friend at Friendship Friday! Liz received this honor for submitting the Question of the Week. She felt “What Inspired Your Blog Name?” was a “good, get to know you” question because:

The blog title is the first thing you see when you go to the blog
And gives you an idea about the blog and what the author is like.

I couldn’t agree more and look forward to reading everyone’s responses!

Just Another Blog is the title of my blog but if you look at the URL it says something about ‘landlock-mo’. I was thinking of calling it ‘Landlocked Missouri’ but because I feel very landlocked living here in the mid-west. But I ended up putting the title up there ‘Just Another Blog’ because that’s what it is……just another blog out there in the blogosphere.

When I started my blog I was pregnant with my first son, so my blog’s name was One + One = Three. Then I had my second son so the name changed to One + One = Four!

  3. So much fun to remind us why we named our blogs why we did!!!
    Thanks.

Hi ! This is my first link up to Friendship Friday! thank you so much for having me. My blog is called Tassels Twigs and Tastebuds. Tassels for decor, Twigs for gardening and Tastebuds for cooking! And a dash of daydream believing thrown in for good measure.

I’m not exactly sure how I came up with my name..I love shopping and being a mommy so Shopaholic Mommy just seemed to fit

  6. This world is never…..perfect. Happiness isn’t served with a spoon or ever guaranteed, but it’s found in the smallest beautiful moments seized and held. There is splendor all around us……even in the midst of tupperware, trash cans, and flower pots.

  7. Amanda says:

My blog name came from getting back to a creative me. So I decided to name my blog after my two favorite things. Scrapbooking (really just a paper-aholic) and pandas. I have gotten into alot more paper art, cards, ATC, and just now expanding into more mixed media but my blog name will always remind me of my first love. And for the panda part, ever since I was a little girl I was called Amanda Panda so it seemed right to go make it a part of my blog name to say who I am.

Mine is a spin off of “couch Potato”. I spend and have spent way to much time on the computer and years and years ago when I was designing graphics on the computer I came up with Mouse Potato Designs. So basically it works like this

    mouse potato :

    1. A person who spends excessive amounts of time using a computer.

    designs :

    1. Decorative or artistic works.

In other words I spend a lot of time on or with the computer making pretty things that include but are not limited to using also paper, printing, photos, cameras, inks, glues, colors, sparkles, sprays, powders, sticky stuff, hot stuff, grungy, sharp objects, tools, tools and did I mention tools oh and paper… pretty sure I mentioned it but have to put that again for sure.. paper lol etc. etc. etc..

    Get it? LOL =0)

Great question! Was fun to participate. *huggles* =0)

  10. Garden Therapy is my blog name because many years ago I became disabled and started gardening as a way to heal. Today I am on the way to recovery, studying to become a Master Gardener, and I have launched a line of art-print throw pillows based on the photography from the garden that is healing me! Thanks for including me in this link party.

My blog is called Crafty Zoo with Monkeys. Monkeys is bc I use to work at a children’s home and had 10 girls. They always wanted to climb the trees but my boss was worried they’d get hurt so I’d tell them they weren’t monkeys. After that, they always wanted to be called monkeys. The crafty part, you can guess… and it’s my Zoo because our home, though we no longer work at the children’s home, is still just as crazy as the zoo would be if they let the animals run loose!

  12. Mlissabeth says:

Hooks, Lines, and Singer was created because I wanted to share what I love–crocheting (hooks); reading, writing poetry, acting (lines); and singing (singer). It is, of course, a play on words from the old saying, because I love using words to communicate, as I am a Speech Pathologist.

  13. Kelly says:

I have 2 blogs Coupons, Crafts and Causes AND Indiana Inker. Coupons, Crafts and Causes came from 3 of my favorite things to do: Couponing, Crafting and donating to causes. Indiana Inker from being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator (scrapbooking and card making supplies) and living in Indiana.

  14. The name of my blog came about because it is a compilation of handmade craft projects that I hope the recipient “treasures”. 🙂

  15. Bella says:

    My blog is Bellagetsreal

Bella is my fun, energetic, and lovable puppy and my blog is me trying to be as real as she is but with my own life. I blog about life, travel, fashion, and food.

    Hope you stop by.

I have really enjoyed reading these posts…it is fun to read how people develop their blog names. Mine was a combination of things as well. I have been a “survivor” of a chronic illness for five years now…so there you find the “chronic” (albeit a play on words too…because I “chronically” like to craft as well)…then…crafting….well…I guess that speaks for itself…and, I strive to live my life for Christ daily. So…there you have it…”Chronic Christian Crafter”….and, it speaks to what I center my blog on inspirational/devotion; crafts/DIY; and encouragement for the “survivors”….love this “linky”….thanks Joy!!!

I like the name of your blog, it’s said what you do but short and simple. I am glad the name has also caught on as a motivation for you as well.

  22. God laid it on my heart to start a blog of thankfulness. Thinking that ‘A Thankful Heart’ was probably used already I decided on ‘A ThankFULL Heart’ as in always having my heart full of thanks.

  23. I started off in the blogging world as ‘Stacy’s Random Thoughts’ – but it was *yawn* boring, so I decided to hold a giveaway on my blog for name ideas (since I figured my readers would be the best judge of what the new name should be) and the comments section of that was hysterical to read through. I narrowed it down to the top 10 (which hubby and Princess Nagger helped me with) then I held a poll on what my readers preferred… and hands down they picked ‘Stacy Uncorked’ – particularly since I make my own wine. (I was secretly hoping that name would win, since it was – and is – perfect for me!) 🙂

Then a little fella come into my life and inspired me to change it to At home with Auntie E. He loved coming to the house and called it his home. the blog took on a change.

I love your blog. The name of my blog says it all. I love writing and photography so artist it will be. I care my camera and note pad with me for I no what will inspire me next. Glad to be one of your followers.

  29. Mine is just a silly play off the reality TV show and old saying … Keeping Up With The Rheinlander’s BUT I recently heard from another blogger that the original saying Keeping Up With The Jones family name was Rheinlander so maybe it was fate??!!??

  31. Sharon says:

OMG Good Morning! I love your blog here…What a wonderful way to get to know other people. I will try to figure it out because I am not that computer savvy..You asked about our blog names and really my blog name is dancing thru threads and the reason is because for the first 15 years or so I was a traditional quilter learned from the Eleanore Burns show and then about 4 yrs ago or so I decided I needed to change and slowly I have been moving into working with more of the Fiber arts, painting with fabric, working with beads, crazy quilting and all different ways to express ourselves thru fabric and threads so that is why I chose “Dancing thru Threads”. I look forward to visiting more often. Have a wonderful Sunday. http://sharon-dancingthruthreads.blogspot.com/ please visit if you would like
