Welcome Kim! I wish I could still off GFC as an option for following, but Google retired GFC from WordPress and non-Blogger blogs in favor of Google Plus at the beginning of March. I can still follow Blogger blogs through GFC because I have a Blogger account, and fortunately it appears that my current followers can still read my blog from their GFC Blogger accounts, but unfortunately, I cannot gain new followers through GFC because the code no longer works on my blog.

So – you can follow me through RSS Feeds, e-mail, Linky Followers, Google Plus, Twitter, Stumble Upon, WordPress and Pinterest – but that is why GFC is no longer an option.

Look forward to connecting with you on Pinterest the next time I log on! 🙂

Happy Easter to you! I have done a bit of Easter crafting this past weekend & then blogged about it this week. I plan on making a late lunch / early Easter dinner with carrot cake, yum! I have the Easter basket ready for the kiddo. Sat. my daughter will want to dye eggs for Easter, which is always messy, fun. Thanks for hosting 😉

  10. I love that this blog hop is centered around getting to know one another and becoming friends. Too many other hops are just “follow me and I’ll follow you back” which tends to be impersonal.

Anyway, I will be celebrating Easter by going to church with my family to honor my Lord Jesus Christ. After that we have a big ham lunch planned. It will be my sons first Easter so he is sure to be spoiled with a huge Easter basket. 😉

Thank you for hosting this hop! I am your new follower. Have a wonderful Easter!

Rachel, welcome – I’m delighted that you’ve found us! How exciting that you are celebrating your son’s first Easter this year. Hope you’ll take a picture of that basket and share it with us at Wordless (doesn’t have to be) Wednesday this week!

  11. The kids will be hunting Easter eggs Sunday morning, then they’ll be hyped up on the candy from the Easter baskets bouncing off the walls all day, and I’ll be making a yummy Ham for dinner. For the most part (aside from the wall-bouncing) we’ll be spending the day relaxing as a family. And I’ll be making multiple phone calls to my family out West, too. 😉

Have a great weekend – and Happy Easter! 🙂

    Easter Eggs-citement

  12. We will celebrate Jesus’s Resurrection this week/weekend. We also do the Easter egg hunt and etc, but I’m trying to get my children to focus on the fact that Easter is not about eggs. and candy.

So I made a basket of goodies for them and before we hand it out, I’ll read to them about Jesus and the Resurrection and then we’ll pray and then they’ll get the candy.

I wish I was more in charge of it. But the church and school already did the egg hunt thing. I don’t want to do another, so I”l do it differently.

    Happy Easter

Great ideas! Perhaps if you have concerns about the messages your children are learning you could do a little research and find some ways to bring it back to the things you want to teach them – like eggs symbolize new life and new birth and what that means in terms of Jesus and the Resurrection. Or, if you have an Easter Egg hunt – if they hunt eggs – include a verse that they can share and discuss with your family. That way, they have fun, but it also becomes a teaching and learning moment! 🙂

      Have a blessed Easter! 🙂

  15. Yona says:

Awe – thanks for selecting me for Friend of the Week!

I wish you, your family and friends a joyous weekend. I wish we had some sort of ongoing tradition that centered on the meaning of the holiday.

Do you have any meal traditions that you tend to serve?

      says:

You’re welcome Yona! I appreciate you taking the time to write such great posts – and I loved that Irish Wolfhound photo!

Easter Sunday is also known as Honey Baked Ham Sunday in our house because that is an essential part of any Easter celebration for me! I traditionally serve it with King’s Hawaaian rolls (unless we’re on a bread-baking kick that year) – cheesy potatoes (I need to post the recipe for these – I have a special holiday recipe that is out of this world!) – and some type of green beans (I have several recipes that I alternate between). Sometimes we add or subtract dishes but these usually remain the same.

How about you and the rest of the comment readers? What will you be serving this Sunday?

  16. Paula J says:

In my family we’re looking forward to the Easter bunny coming, chocolate easter egg hunt, and getting together with family.

Have a great weekend everyone :))

Happy Easter to you. He is risen! I love the link you have to that song. We have two Christian stations here that I listen to a lot. KLOVe and Air 1. Great worship music on both. As for us, we are going ti church to celebrate the life of Christ, then back to my mom’s for lunch. Hope yours is well!

Thanks Melanie! I love listening to my favorite worship songs via You Tube and watching the creative ways people incorporate video to them! I hope to share one this weekend if I can find the time to post! 🙂

      Enjoy the celebrations!

  19. Hazel says:

During Easter we usually stay at home, sing hymns and do relevant readings. When I was a little girl and if it happened that I was at Grandma and Grandpa’s, I’d get to watch the festivities on the street. The meals were always special, very yummy 🙂

Here for Friendship Friday. Thanks again for hosting.
