WOYWW – Birthday Cheer

Happy Birthday Card at Create With Joy - Blue & Maroon

Happy WOYWW once more! Today it’s back to building up the birthday card stash. Here’s the latest – a card that’s suitable for anyone, male or female, based on the colors. I got my fingers inky with this one – lots of distressing – the slide mount was white when I started!

Now, would anyone care to explain why there is a mummy on my desk…

  29. How funny–I just found a stash of slide mounts at the back of my desk drawer the other day. I got to thinking, “Who uses these anymore?” Now I know! Mine were plastic, but I used to have the white cardboard ones. I also have a die to cut them out of anything. I may have to revisit slide mounts now. Happy WOYWW to you and thanks for the inspiration.

I have a huge stash of slide mounts left over from the days when they were all the rage! I have both plastic and paper – like the paper ones better – find I can do more with them. Lots of oldies to revisit as I continue to dig thru that stash for the Use It Up Challenge (which I keep forgetting to link to, but which I am plugging away at, anyway!)

  30. LOVE the ‘mummy’! lol… And love the card too! Nice colours!

      Hi Shauna,

I added the photo awhile ago but yes, you’ve identified it correctly – it is a photo of Chihuly’s amazing glass sculture ceiling that I took in Vegas! I did a post on it way back when… and thought it was too pretty to just lock away in the archives! 🙂
