Where Bloggers Create 2012

Welcome to Where Bloggers Create – that fabulous event where creative bloggers around the world throw open the doors of their art studios, scrap rooms and other creative spaces and show you where the inspiration begins and the magic occurs! Are you ready to turn on the lights at The Paper Palace and peek inside?

Turn On The Lights

The first thing you’ll discover as you step into my studio is that my space isn’t really my own! I share my space with Tsunami and Legend, two crafty Maine Coons who love to chew on plastic, gnaw on paper, steal embellishments, play with glue and glitter, and sample new recipes every chance they get! They also like to type and blog – whenever something looks particularly “creative” on my blog, you can be sure that they had a paw in it!

Legend & Tsunami

When the cats aren’t around – and my desk is clear – I am blessed with a bountiful workspace to create on! Because I love to collect lots of treasures, though, I’ve had to find creative ways to maximize every inch of my space!

My Creative Workspace

I converted old cassette tape holders into Ink Pad storage on my desktop so that I can create a stamped image at a moment’s notice. I also rotate artwork to keep myself inspired!

Ink Storage & Altered Art

Inside my desk, I keep stickles, word stamps, and various crafting items close at hand!

Stamp & Stickle Storage

Behind my desk are cabinets that house my paper and flower garden! My husband, Prince Charming, built all of the shelves and cabinets for me when I first moved into this space!

Paper & Flower Garden

Here’s a peek inside of the paper garden, where everything is sorted according to color, manufacturer, and/or category!

Inside The Paper Garden

To the left of my desk is the closet that we opened up and lined with shelves. These shelves house beautiful boxes and baskets that house stamps, ribbons, embellishments, and all sorts of surprises!

Stamp & Embellishment Storage

For instance, one of my favorite boxes is filled with – cat stamps! Hmmm, I wonder who got into that box?

A Box Full Of Cat Stamps

Another box is full of beautiful lace trim! It’s a joy to create pretty treasures from that box!

Lovely Lace

Across from my desk are the shelves that house my card-making supplies, scrapbooks, music CDs – and, of course, more treasures!
