I was born and raised in Philadelphia, birthplace of our nation, where our Declaration of Independence was written and signed and our Constitution was written and ratified. It is wonderful to walk in the literal steps of our Founders, and realize what incredible sacrifices they made to give us the liberties and freedoms we have today. We now live in a suburb, but try to bring our children downtown often to learn and appreciate what our nation was founded upon and the importance of those values and principles. 🙂

      Hi Lisa,

It is amazing to grow up in places where history was made! I had the pleasure of visiting Philly once – I met Ben Franklin on my visit! Not the “real” Ben Franklin, of course – but a guy “recreating” Ben Franklin was dressed and in character greeting visitors and it was SO cool to interact with him! Really made the visit memorable!

Thanks so much for featuring my site! I look forward to meeting & visiting as many as I can each week. When someone drops by & comments then I always try to visit when I can & I always leave a comment reply.
The community I live in is growing, but not too fast. We are a growing wine region & best know for our coastal neighbors “Hearst Castle” which is an amazing place to visit in San Simeon, CA

Thanks so much again for the shout out 😉

      You are so welcome Theresa!

I’ve also visited Hearst Castle a few times and it is truly an amazing place – I highly recommend it to anyone who has a chance to go!
You need to visit multiple times to see it all (which I have yet to do!)
Be sure to bring your walking shoes if you go! 🙂

I currently live in Orange County, California, which is probably best known for Disneyland. However, there are so many awesome things including our beautiful beaches, fantastic restaurants and shopping areas, museums and cultural events. Happy weekend everyone!

I was born in raised in Chicago, also known as the Windy City. Many people think Chicago is very windy, but it is not. While there are a few different versions of how the city received this name one thing is consistent. That is that the politicians and others were full of hot air. It is funny because no one who lives there says I’m going to Lake Michigan, it is just The Lake.

I left Chicago in 2005, the only thing I miss is having everything at my finger tips.

I still live in my hometown where I grew up. My children go to the sames schools I attended and it’s nice, although a bit boring at times. We’re close to the ocean, the mountains, and Boston, MA which is nice when I need to go to the city for things such as medical reasons, or just for fun 🙂

Have a great weekend and thanks for hosting !

How cool that you still live in your original hometown!
There is a lot to be said for roots and familiarity!
Sounds like you’re in an awesome part of the country!

      Have a fabulous week!

What makes my hometown unique is that you can access 7 world class resorts within 30 minutes from our airport. It is also common to golf and ski in the same day or mountain bike and ski in the same day- there is tons to do here and I love it. Salt Lake City, UT

This is such a great idea. Great way to get to know your fellow bloggers.

Hmmmm unique? Not sure it is unique, but I live in the capital city of our great state.

One of the most famous zoo’s or at least zoo spokesperson in the US with his frequent visits on national TV.

A major college town with a pro hockey team that calls this place home.

So there you have it… a lil about my home town….well my adopted home town anyway.

Hi Ramona! Oh I am getting so spacey towards the end of Summer. I really need the routine of Fall back! Hope you are enjoying these last few weeks of August yourself. Because I live in a tourist area on the coast of RI the days get quieter around here come Fall. But I so enjoy all of the seasons here. Course less traffic is always nice…but II can roll with it living 2 minutes from the beautiful Atlantic Coastline!

  14. Marcie says:

What makes my town unique is that there is always something going on. Sometimes a 5k run, craft fairs and sidewalk sales are just a few of the offerings. One of my favorite things is to go into the town bookstore for book signings. All I have to do is get on my bike or walk to were I want to be.
