International Day Of The Girl – A New Holiday

Did you know that October 11, 2012 marks the birth of a new holiday?
Please join me in celebrating the International Day Of The Girl!

It’s a day when we are called to speak for those who don’t have voices.
It’s a day where we are called to be the change we want to see in the world.

Because I Am A Girl Video

The International Day Of The Girl is a holiday that was created by the United Nations General Assembly to:

  • Bring global awareness to the plight of girls in developing countries.
  • Advocate for girls’ rights.
  • Push for greater gender equality for voiceless girls around the world.

The theme of this year’s International Day Of The Girl is ending child marriage.

The following video contains some shocking statistics about the prevalence of child marriages across the globe.

Every Three Seconds Video

An integral part of this project is to improve girls’ lives and help them reach their full potential through education.

Please join me in raising awareness. Let’s make every day the Day of the Girl!
