Reading Christmas books and watching Christmas movies were always some of our favorite Christmas traditions. We’ve continued those even with our grown kids and kids-in-love! Here’s a post I had at Living Montessori Now about our traditions when our kids were younger:

      Hi Dolly

Thanks for taking the time to stop by during what sometimes seems like the busiest time of the year!
Look forward to stopping by… perhaps you’ll feature some Christmas music on your Monday meme! 🙂

Baking cookies & goodies with the kids. Gathering as a family. Anything twinkling & sparkling. Going to holiday festivals in town. Remembering & celebrating what Christmas is really about. Thanks for hosting. xo

My favorite holiday traditions are volunteering and giving someone in need that I know something unexpected. When I was little my father and I used to be Santa and his elf, Jingles, for The Cancer Society and children with Down’s. My father raised me that, no matter what, you are enough. You have enough and you do enough. Not only that, no matter how bad things are, there are always people worse off than you and the best thing that you can do is to try to make this world a little brighter than you left it.

We love to do special Advent activities together, like an Advent calendar and Jesse Tree, and we love to bake lots of goodies, as well. 🙂 Thanks so much for hosting.

I have always wanted to make an Advent Calendar, Lisa! What’s a Jesse tree? Baking? Yum!
Thanks for sharing your favorite traditions. I hope your weekend is fabulous!

I am actually finishing up a post about our favorite Christmas tradition! My mom sends us every year to see A Christmas Carol at the theatre. It is done by an amazing local theatre company who re-create it every time yet still share that sweet message of redeeming the time. Love!

  7. Even though all my kids and Dan’s kids are grown up and out of the house, they come for Christmas every year – we bake the same cookies that we have made since they were little, we listen to our favorite holiday CD, we watch “A Christmas Story” over and over, we drive around the neighborhoods and look at lights, and we play board games together. It is quite simply the best gift I could ever have – being with them all…

I love family get togethers and am so sad that I won’t get to spend Christmas with my mom this year!
I loved sending Kizmet kisses but am having Kizmet update withdrawal!
Need to see a prolonged report with LOTS of new photos soon! 🙂

  9. Baking cookies and getting the Christmas boxes down and watching the girls find their favorite decorations, putting up and then decorating the tree. Oh! And of course Christmas Music!

      Yes – it’s all great!
I have been thinking about our childhood decorations every since I posted and will have to ask my mom whatever happened to them this weekend!

  10. One of my favorite traditions is going out to see the Christmas lights with our family.

  12. Hi!
Thanks for letting me share my own recipe of tasty and delicious

  13. Each year my husband & I give each other a special Christmas ornament commemorating that year’s dance that we performed to in our dance ministry, or some other meaningful experience. Last year we ended up giving each other the same ornament! Each year as we decorate the tree, we remember all these special moments! Thanks for the great post & for hosting & God bless!
