Fun Facts About Maine Coons
Maine Coons are highly intelligent cats who frequently
Assume the role of guardian and watch cat within their families.
Over the years, each of my Maine Coons has “protected” me
While I slept, then looked to me to return the favor!
Legend even trills and reaches his paw out for me during his catnaps
To make sure I have not abandoned my station!
When I am home alone, my cats frequently position themselves
In places where they can keep an eye on all of the hallways and entryways.
Sometimes they lie side by side, each facing a different direction!
Tsunami frequently lies in front of the entryway door,
Just like a guard cat!
Both cats know and expect us to abide by regular schedules.
In today’s photo, Tsunami has been patiently waiting for –
And is now overseeing his dad’s arrival home!

Orion has taken it upon himself to follow Red everywhere. He likes to keep an eye on him, just to make sure he’s safe. I’m so pleased with how Red has settled in. All three of my cats are happy with him now, it’s like he has been here forever. I am so very lucky to have such friendly cats.
I’ve got a video on my post today of Red playing with his Track Ball :o)

I miss having a kitty. Mine cat died four years ago this Thanksgiving.

Today he was napping and we tested out a new blood pressure monitor – a fairly quiet one at that.
The moment we pressed the on button, he jumped up and had his neck stretched like a giraffe to peer over his cat post to see what new “sound” was!
Cats are such funny creatures of habit 🙂 We have a cat each – they tend to gravitate towards one of us over the other!

So do ours! While Maine Coons love their family at large, they tend to bond with a special person in their homes!
Watch cats are nice! Our watch cats stays in the window until Humphrey tries to share the small window sill. How have you been?
