The Candle Classic Bible – Book Review
Are you looking for a Children’s Bible that is theologically accurate yet written at a level that will engage your elementary-school aged readers? If so, I’d like to introduce you to The Candle Classic Bible – a beautifully written and illustrated book filled with 365 Bible stories that your child will love!
Technically speaking, The Candle Classic Bible is not a “real” Bible – that is, it does not contain the full text of the Old and New Testaments. However, it’s a perfect tool to introduce young readers (and listeners) to the stories of the Bible in a way they can understand!
The Candle Classic Bible takes young readers on a journey through the Bible through the retelling of 365 of the most important and best-loved Bible stories of all times. These stories will prepare young minds and young hearts for their first “real” Bible when the time is right!
There are several things that I like about The Candle Classic Bible:
- There is a Bible story included for every day of the year!
- Each story is divided into easy-to-read sections with catchy titles.
- Each story contains the Bible reference for further exploration.
- The beautiful illustrations capture your child’s attention!
The first 261 stories are dedicated to The Old Testament. The remaining stories come from the New Testament.
Proverbs 22:6 says:
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
The Candle Classic Bible will help your child to learn God’s word at an early age and to hide God’s word in his or her heart!
This book is perfect for gift-giving as well!

Thanks for stopping by Bruce! This is really a nice children’s Bible! 🙂
This would be very good to have. What age range would you say this is good for? I teach K-5th grade students on Sundays at my church as would be interested in recommending something like this to their parents.

Hi David,
According to the publisher, the book is targeted for children ages 8 to 10. I think this would be perfect for the age range you are teaching, however! These stories are perfect for reading to younger children and are very engaging for children who are learning to read and discovering the Bible for the first time!

I always like to share the stories in the Bible with the little guys. Thanks for sharing this version. Cheryl, Hop Hostess
This book sounds like it also could help Mums like me who need help introducing and explaining some of the stories to young kids.

Yes, it’s a perfect teaching and bonding tool for parents and children! 🙂
Sounds like a great way to keep children involved in learning the stories of the Bible. Thanks for your review.
I love how many stories there are in one book. So many feature the “favorite few” and I never feel the children get the full scope of Scripture. Great review!
