The Wanderer – Book Review

When Hank Cooper first rolls into Thunder Point, a remote beach community on the rocky coast of Oregon, he doesn’t plan on staying for long. He’s only there to find out what happened to Ben – an army buddy whose death he learned of through a phone call – and to pick up whatever Ben left for him.

But, sometimes things happen that cause you to change your plans.

After Cooper arrives, he meets with Mac McCain – the town’s deputy sheriff – to learn how Ben died. He also begins talking to Ben’s friends to learn more about his recent activities. Based on what he learns, and what he knows about Ben, Cooper cannot help but feel that there’s more to Ben’s death than meets the eye. Even though there is no evidence to support that theory, Cooper and Mac bond and decide to dig more deeply into the circumstances surrounding Ben’s death.

Cooper also learns that Ben left him than just the few army mementos he anticipated. Now, he must make some important decisions regarding his inheritance – decisions that not only impact his friend’s legacy, but the fate of the entire community as well!

The Wanderer is the first book in the new Thunder Point series from best-selling author Robyn Carr. I loved the setting and enjoyed seeing how Cooper – a perpetual wanderer and self-described loner – builds friendships and makes connections (romantic and otherwise) the longer he stays.

Fans of contemporary romance will like this book and will look forward to The Newcomer and The Hero – the upcoming books in the series!
