Welcome To Wordless Wednesday At Create With Joy!
Quote Of The Day
Poets generally love cats –
Because poets have no delusions about their own superiority.

Fun Facts About Maine Coons
Several Wordless Wednesdays ago, I shared that one of the legends
Surrounding the origins of the Maine Coon Cat was that they derived
From matings between semi-feral domestic cats and raccoons due to
Similarities in appearance and behavior between the two species!
Did you know that another legend surrounding the origin of these
Beautiful cats is that they were produced from the crossing of an
Indigenous bobcat with a domestic cat?
Both Bobcats and Maine Coons have lovely tufted ears and
Tufts of fur between their toes to help them deal with harsh winters and
Matings between certain species of domestic and wild cats
Have been documented.
Again, however, the scientists tell us this mating combination is not possible!
Regardless of where the original Maine Coons originated,
Today’s Maine Coons make wonderful companions and family members!

Until today, I hadn’t even heard of a Maine Coon. I surely would have thought it was a very dangerous animal had I not read your post. Thanks for the enlightenment.

Maine Coons are known as the “Gentle Giants” of the cat world!
The only danger we face is from the thud of their weight when they plop on our laps for love!
Well huh! I thought matings between wild cats and feral cats was possible!
Twitter: CreateWithJoy1
says:
Certain matings are, but for some reason, scientist say that this particular combo isn’t!
There is no wild blood in Maine Coons (despite the fact that certain lines have a certain feral look to them!)

Legend loves to get into everything – he cannot stand a closed door or cabinet!
He literally has to stick his nose into everything – and to “touch” things with his big paws too!

Maine Coons are beautiful! Happy WW 🙂
What a handsome boy!
Last summer we fostered a cat that was believed to be part Maine Coon. He was the sweetest cat–very playful and engaging. I convinced one of my coworkers, who never thought she would like cats, to adopt him. Now, he is all she talks about.
Thanks for sharing 🙂

I really really want a Main Coon but it’s gonna have to wait until I’m done with school and the hubby and I get our own place.
I would love it if you checked out my blog, I just opened up my online shop yesterday!!

That’s really interesting to hear more about Main Coons … In Finland we’re having also bigger wild cats in the forest – lynx and catamounts, but they’re much bigger in size as household cats … I’ll stay tuned to hear more!
Happy Wordless Wednesday!

How’s the writing going? Sadly, I’m not doing as well as I planned. Real life, meaning…the job…got in the way big time last week. Hoping I can still redeem myself the remainder of this week.

The writing is steady – but there are never enough hours in the day to get it all done.
