Bake Through The Bible – Book Review

Are you looking for a creative resource that will help you to bring the stories of the Bible to life for young children while engaging their senses, teaching them valuable skills, and creating an atmosphere of family fun?

If so, you will want to check out Bake Through The Bible – 20 Fun Cooking Activities To Explore The Bible Story With Young Children by Susie Bentley-Taylor & Bekah Moore!

This book is full of stories and activities that will make education fun for adults and children alike!

Bake Through The Bible was written by two moms who wanted to share the love of God with their pre-school children. They also knew that focus can be a challenge at that age. So, they chose 20 key Bible stories they felt would be important for children ages 2-7 to know – wrote them in a compelling way – and combined them with baking activities to complement the stories, as well as prayers and questions to engage their children’s interest!

You don’t have to be a great cook to use this book. The activities are easy to do and illustrated for everyone to follow along. All you need is a willing spirit in order to enjoy these activities!

Here’s a sampling of what you’ll find inside:

In Activity 1, God Makes Everything, Genesis 1, the Creation story, is paired with Creation Cookies. You and your children will make animal cookies, which you’ll decorate to your heart’s content, and discuss some of the things God made in His Creation!

In Activity 3, God Makes Amazing Promises, you’ll share the story of Abraham and make Sparkly Promise Cookies with your children. You’ll fill the cookies with the promises of God and compare how the sparkles on the cookies are like God’s promises (countless!)

In Activity 7, you’ll share the story of Joshua and learn how God gives his people a home. You’ll then teach your children to make Bread Homes – and your prayer time will include mention of your heavenly home!

I think that this is a great activity book for families and I definitely recommend this to my readers!

This is really a fine way to teach Bible stories. Children will remember because they made something special to coincide with that particular story. When I taught first grade, I loved to cook with my kids and taught math, science, history, and reading lessons along with something good and fun to eat! Thanks for sharing this book.
