From My Heart To Yours by Michelle Zarrin is a literary novel containing autobiographical elements about a young woman named Sophia, who falls in love with and marries her friend, Earl. Like most young girls, Sophia has high hopes and dreams for the life ahead of her. Those dreams are soon shattered as Sophia learns that Earl is not the man she believes him to be.

This story chronicles Sophia’s emotional journey through love and loss – through heartbreak and betrayal – and, ultimately, through the landscape of a loved one’s addiction.

From My Heart To Yours is meant to inspire as the author shares the lessons Sophie embraces along the way and the transformation that Sophia goes through as she sheds each layer of naïveté.

While the book is well written, I found the pace slow at times, and thought the story would have been strengthened had it been told in the first person.

However, readers who resonate with Sophia’s story will find From My Heart To Yours cathartic and appreciate Sophia’s resilience.

I rate this book 3/5 Stars.
