Haunting and majestic hymn that draws forth the
Ancient biblical prophecies and captures the longing
Of a people in need of a Savior.

O Come O Come Emmanuel is awesome Christmas song and Selah’s near-haunting version is fabulous. That was an interesting video on The War of Christmas. I may try to come back to enter the book give away. We celebrate Christmas at our house in all of its glory with Jesus being the center of why our festivities, but we do incorporate many of the traditional Christmas customs into our holiday fun. The important thing is to know the difference to separate fiction from fact while putting everything in its proper place. Thanks for sharing your music selection with us this morning on Monday’s Music Moves Me!
Congrats on 100 weeks! Thanks for hosting. Have a wonderful week!
Congratulations on turning 100!

Congratulations on 100!
I haven’t read the War on Christmas book, but by watching the video it sounds like it may be a little too negative towards other religions so it’s probably not for me, but I’m glad you enjoyed it.

Hi Amethyst,
I hope you’ll stop by the tour and my post and check it out!
I did not find the book negative towards other religions but would love to hear your thoughts!
(Since this isn’t the type of book you would ordinarily pick up, perhaps winning a copy would be the perfect way to explore a different perspective?)
Either way, have a wonderful week and thanks so much for joining us during this very special celebration! 🙂
Congrats on 100 weeks! Happy Monday!

Here from the Monday’s Music Moves Me hop – Loved your Oh Come Emmanuel! I also checked out the questions on the Christmas story from Bible to holiday tradition. As a Catholic, I do believe in Sacred Tradition, so I got all the answers correct. It also helps that I have heard the Bible rendition many many times by watching A Charlie Brown Christmas. I just love hearing Linus recite Our Lord’s birth from the second chapter of Luke.

my blog keeps telling me that this page/site is refering people to my blog but I can find no links etc, KJust wondered how people are coming to me from you?
thanks, mark

Thanks Mark!
If you’ve linked up to any of my parties – like this one – people are probably visiting from the party link.
We have a great community here so if you participate you’ll get to meet a lot of wonderful bloggers!
That is such a beautiful song.
And I did get all the answers right — but I teach Sunday School so I suppose that’s an unfair advantage. ha.
And of course, I say Merry Christmas — but I don’t get offended if someone says Happy Holidays or Season’s Greetings to me. I know that not everyone believes the same — but I don’t need to be threatened by their unbelief. As for me and my house….right?
Getting upset just seems counter productive to what the spirit of the Season should be.
Instead of assuming the person intends some kind of offense — I’m just happy they passed good wishes and joy to me.

I feel the same way – whatever greeting I give or I receive – I receive it (and mean it) with everything good in mind!
