A Stitch And A Prayer by Eva Gibson

A Stitch And A Prayer

A Stitch And A Prayer – Book Review

Each of us has our cross in life to bear – and Florence Harms is certainly no stranger to sorrow.

The year is 1899 and all is not well on the Western front.

Life has not been kind to Florence.

When her fiancé, Will, returns home after the Klondike gold rush in 1897, Florence looks forward to settling down with her new husband, in her new marriage, in her new life. They have so much to look forward to as they build a home and a future for themselves and their family.

And then – a stranger comes.

Florence doesn’t know what the stranger’s visit is all about – but she is forced to face the reality that she is on her own once more when she finds a cryptic note from Will indicating that he is gone and that he would return home before their baby’s birth.

Now – alone, pregnant, and weak from a chronic illness – Florence is forced to rely on those around her as she struggles to survive and maintain her belief that Will will keep his promise and return to her.

A Stitch And A Prayer by Eva Gibson is the faith-infused story of Florence’s emotional journey to hang on to her faith – in her husband and in God – despite the circumstances she faces.

It’s also the 18th book in the Quilts Of Love Series from Abingdon Press – one of the most enjoyable series of inspirational stories you’ll find on the market today!

What I loved about A Stitch And A Prayer was Eva’s beautiful writing style and the symbolism of the Tree of Life Quilt that Florence creates during her husband’s absence as she prays for his safe return.

If you enjoy faith-based historical fiction, be sure to check out A Stitch And A Prayer!

I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.
