Rope Of Sand – Book Review
Rope Of Sand by C. F. Dunn is Book 3 in The Secret Of The Journal series. It’s part of the ongoing romantic saga about the developing relationship between British historian Emma D’Eresby and American surgeon Matthew Lynes that began in Book 1, Mortal Fire and continued in Book 2, Death Be Not Proud.
If you are new to the series, the author provides you with a summary of what has occurred in the story so far. However, the plot is rather complex – you really need to read this series from the beginning before delving into this book!
Rope Of Sand is set in Maine, where Emma is looking forward to building a future with Matthew. She is preparing to meet his family – a daunting task under most circumstances – but even more so given the unusual circumstances surrounding his past.
Emma believes that she has discovered all that she knows to move forward into a future of her choosing – but has she?
What would happen if more ugliness from the past were to rear its ugly little head?
Rope Of Sand is filled with plenty of dark secrets and mysterious twists that thicken the plot at every turn of the page!
Rope Of Sand is not a casual read – but if you’re looking for a well written novel to sink your teeth into – and you’re willing to invest your time in the series – give this book a whirl!
And – if you love the series – be on the lookout for Book 4, Realm Of Darkness in the not-too-distant future!
I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Sounds like an interesting relationship between an historian and a surgeon.
Not sure if the novel would be my cup of tea, tho.
I swung over from Cozy Reading Spot.
