Like A Rhinestone Cowboy Card

Like-A-Rhinestone-Cowboy-Card-create-with-joy.com

When is the last time that you heard a song and had it stick in your head?

I recently heard Glenn Campbell’s catchy tune, Like A Rhinestone Cowboy, and it’s been going round and round in the turntable of my mind all week!

So – what better way to “tune” it out than to whip up a cowboy-inspired card?

And, what better challenge to use for inspiration than Heart 2 Heart’s Inspired By A Song Challenge?

Since this CTMH-inspired challenge blog requires you to use at least some Close To My Heart products in your creations, I dug through my mountain of CTMH supplies and found the perfect papers to incorporate into the design – Sarsaparilla – along with flowers, buttons, mini-brads, and bling to add pop and texture for a few fun challenges like the WeDoDooBaDoo Add Textures Challenge!

I love distressing, and incorporated it into the card, as it adds to the rustic, vintage shabby look!

I also incorporated several color challenges – used up lots of stash items – and used a previously unopened stamp set (CTMH D1221 – Delightful Alphabet Stamp) for the Craft For The Craif Challenge!

The bigger they grow, the more mischief they get into… that’s my lament at this week’s Wordless Wednesday party, as I share the latest adventures of Magellan the Daredevil! Be sure to stop by and learn why Magellan has me trembling in my boots…

I truly appreciate all of your support and all of your kind comments on my blog. Things are moving somewhat slowly at the moment as we make final preparations to say good-bye to my sister-in-law. It’s also bringing up all sorts of raw emotions regarding the loss of my own mother not too long ago.

Have a wonderful week dear friends! Be sure to peek at the giveaways on my sidebar before you leave – and be sure to visit WOYWW to see What’s On Everybody’s Work Desk This Wednesday!

Hi, I’d never thought of doing a card inspired by a song, but you seem to have done it rather well. Just hope you are not still singing it now.

My husband overheard me playing the song (I generally go through several videos before picking one to post) and came in to see what I was up to, which led us to a prolonged discussion on Glen Campbell this evening!

Just a fun tidbit – and I think that after playing it several times, it is slowly working its way out of my head!

That’s the beauty of frequenting those art challenges, Diane – I wouldn’t have thought of it either, had I not seen that challenge last week (when I did the Inspired By A Book Challenge!)

Normally when I do a song I do something mundane like Happy Birthday – but this time, I really went out of the box! 🙂
