Woman Of Courage by Wanda E. Brunstetter

Woman Of Courage

Woman Of Courage – Book Review

Imagine you live in 1837 and are the only daughter of a Quaker minister. You have met the man of your dreams and tomorrow – your dreams will all come true. Tomorrow, you will walk down the aisle and begin your life as Mrs. Nathan Lane.

And then – an unexpected visit from your fiancé shatters your hopes and dreams.

You learn from your fiance’s lips that the man of your dreams has fallen in love with someone else and has come to call off the wedding.

Ashamed, humiliated, and broken-hearted – what would you do?

Amanda Pearson responds in the only way she knows how. She resigns herself to life as an old maid and focuses her energies into living out her faith.

Three months later, she and her widowed father find themselves travelling from their comfortable home in New York out into the western wilderness to share Christianity with the Nez Perce Indians.

This is the story that lies before you in Woman Of Courage – a faith-based, historical novel by award-winning romance writer Wanda E. Brunstetter.

Woman Of Courage takes us on a different journey than the traditional Amish books that Wanda writes – one that takes Amanda completely out of her comfort zone!

Now, I have to confess: Amanda wasn’t my favorite protagonist. Like Harvey, the tour guide, I found her to be overly preachy, a bit spoiled, and a tad annoying at times.

But, as you might imagine, a journey like this cannot leave you untouched – and if you appreciate this genre, I’m sure you’ll enjoy following Amanda’s adventures and transformation throughout the book!

I rate this book 3 out of 5 stars.

This sounds like a good book.
However, I see you only gave it 3/5 rating.
Maybe it’s one for my Kindle, instead of spending the money on a paperback.

    • Hi Michelle,

If this sounds like a book that you would enjoy, I would suggest that you preview it on Amazon and read what some of the other reviewers had on Amazon/GoodReads had to say before making your decision on which way to go. While I would make the Kindle recommendation, in all fairness to the author, the majority of the reviews that I read ranked this book a 5 out of 5 so I am in the minority by giving it a 3 out of 5.

Like the other reviewers who rated this a 3 out of 5, I did not feel that this was a bad book – it just did not fully resonate with me.
