Friend Of The Week – Julie at Artwork By JM
This week I’d like to introduce you to Julie –
The blogger behind Artwork By JM, an Art and Fashion Blog!
Julie says she is married to the most amazing man in the world!
She is the mother of a beautiful little girl and resides in Pittsburg, PA,
Where she spends her days obsessing over fashion and
Trying to eek out a living as an artist!
Like many of us, Julie says she is a hoarder when it comes to
Sentimental treasures – so she thought a
DIY Wedding Card Book would be the perfect place to
Store one’s treasured mementos from their special day!
Be sure to stop by to meet and greet Julie this week and
Extend her the warmest of Friendship Friday welcomes!

Remember 9/11 With A Symbolic Card
Today is the 13th anniversary of 9/11 –
One of the most tragic days in our nation’s history!
To commemorate the day, I created a 9/11 inspired sympathy card.
Everything on the card has symbolic meaning.

Celebrate Heroism With Thunder Dog
I also wanted to share with you Thunder Dog –
A book that celebrates the heroic escape of Michael Hinson –
From the Twin Towers that day with the help of his
Courageous Guide Dog, Roselle.
It’s an inspiring story that I know you’ll enjoy reading!
Chat In The Comments – Where Were You?
I was at the doctor’s office when I first heard the news.
Where were you?
Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
Wherever you are today, I wish you a safe and blessed week!

I was at my on-compus health clinic my senior year of college. It’s so weird, I walked in and the world was one way, and I walked out and it was totally different.

Believe it or not, hubby and I were at The Magic Kingdom when the attack happened. Entering the park that day, we had no clue what was ahead. There were no security guards in site. An hour or so later, we were being evacuated. The next day there were security guards greeting us at the entrance to inspect our bags and more. #WhatAChange
Thanks for sharing the Thunder Dog book. That looks like a great one to check out.
Have a super weekend, friend!

So glad I could share it with you Bev – it’s from Bruce’s album The Rising, which is his response to 9/11.
The album is amazing – it was his first recording with the E Street Band after an 18 year hiatus.
His song was a Grammy recipent – his album was a Grammy nominee – and when the album debuted at #1 with first week sales of 520K copies, Bruce became the oldest person in music history – age 52 – to achieve first week record sales of over half a million in the United States!
Thanks so much for hosting!

My pleasure Debbie – enjoy your weekend!
I was making pancakes for my kids. My sister called and told me to turn on the TV. We watched the news coverage in horror and witnessed the unexpected attack on the 2nd tower. My older children (10 & 7) at the time will never forget either.
Thanks for sharing the tribute today AND for hosting the link up.

Good evening, and thank you for hosting the party. I was in bed (we live in California) when my husband called me from work. I turned on the news and watched in horror. Since my husband works in a government building, he was sent home shortly after he called. We spent the rest of the day glued to the TV. Let’s pray this never happens again.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Hopping through. Have a great weekend! Those popsicles look great.

Well, no heat here today in fact, we even had to put on the heat we were so cold. It was in the lower 60’s and we needed to take the chill out of the house. brrrrr Wasn’t ready for that that’s for sure. I also never heard that song by Rick Springfield which I’m surprised. Great song & video thanks so much for sharing. Now don’t forget to sign up your recipes by me. I always love yours, and have pinned everyone I believe. Now if you have a recipe for zucchini bread I’ve been looking for a good one. ~heehee~ Oh wait… did you give me one already? I’m going to have to go check! Great weekend my friend I so want to read that book about those brave dogs. Sweet lil’ heroes.

Thank you for hosting, and for the tribute.
I had just dropped off my children at school, and while driving to my mom’s for a morning visit, I began to grieve profoundly, without a clue as to why I was grieving (no news yet). All the way to her home, I sobbed and prayed… not knowing what to pray for other than peace, safety, and mercy. I will always remember how desperately I prayed for mercy (still no news). I did not know of the horrible events until I walked into my mother’s house. I was horrified, in shock, but seeing how my spirit knew grounded me as I rushed back to my children’s school, and for the days to come. I could barely think of that horrible day without grieving. The world stood still and our lives were forever changed. We must never forget.

Isn’t it amazing how some of us are so sensitive, we just know something terrible has happened?
Thank you for sharing your memories with us Marcia – they are truly profound.

I was driving my daughter to school. The rest of the day is a blur.

Thank you for inviting me, and for this opportunity to link Pink Saturday. Everybody needs a little pink in their life.
Well, Sept. 11, 2001 started out as an exciting day. My brother and his wife were headed to the hospital to have their twins. That was my first call of the morning by my mom.
The next call was my husband. He told me, “They attacked us. Go turn on the TV.” I didn’t understand until I saw the buildings on fire. And then collapsing.
The next call was my mom again. One of my sister’s brother-in-law started work in Tower 1 on Sept. 10, 2001. He had gone into work at 8:00 am on the 10th. No one heard from him for hours. Well after the towers were gone. We waited and waited. Late Sept 11, we heard that his manager had told him to come in at 9:00 on Sept 11….That small instruction had saved his life. He finally got word out of the city that he was alive.
My brother and his wife had healthy babies. A boy and a girl.
But talk about conflicting emotions!
The world changed that day.
Thanks for the reminders Ramona!
