The Hope Quotient

The Hope Quotient – Book Review

“Hope” is the thing with feathers –
That perches in the soul –
And sings the tune without the words –
And never stops – at all.
Emily Dickinson

If someone asked you what the most vital ingredient is to a person’s survival, what would your answer be?

There are many pragmatic answers to that question but in my heart, I believe the most important – and often overlooked – ingredient in a person’s life is hope.

Renown pastor and leader Ray Johnston believes this too and has released a new book – The Hope Quotient – that teaches people how to measure and raise the level of hope they have in their lives!

Ray notes that hope is important because:

  • Hope liberates.
  • Hope unleashes compassion.
  • Hope encourages people.
  • Hope motivates.
  • Hope helps people attempt new things.
  • Hope motivates people to find new strength.
  • Hope propels people forward – even when it seems impossible.

Ray says that hope is not just an emotion you feel, or wishful thinking or blind optimism, but a state of being that you can learn and create.

In The Hope Quotient, Ray provides you with a diagnostic test code that allows you to complete an online Hope Quotient Assessment and create a personal roadmap towards a future filled with greater potential and hope.

Once you’ve completed the test, you can use the information to implement seven strategies that will help you raise your personal hope factor:

  • Recharge your batteries.
  • Raise your expectations.
  • Refocus on the future.
  • Play to your strengths.
  • Refuse to go it alone.
  • Replace burnout with balance.
  • Play great defense.

You’ll also learn how to unleash a culture of hope:

  • In your marriage.
  • In your kids.
  • In your career.
  • In your church.
  • In your community.
  • In the world.

Ray has succeeded in writing an extremely encouraging book that has the potential to transform your life.

I rate The Hope Quotient 5 out of 5 stars.

It would be great for me to replace burnout with balance. I left a very demanding career a few years ago and I’ve wanted to make some positive adjustments to my life ever since. This looks like a great guide, thanks for the chance to win it.

Sounds like a very interesting book and a worthwhile read

  9. Nancy says:

I need to focus on play to your strengths. So often we all emphasize our weaknesses instead of our strengths.

  10. Merry says:

I would probably need to refocus on the future

  11. Merry says:

I forgot to say why. Probably because as a cancer survivor you just quite dont know what the future holds, but you know Who holds the future.

  12. Lit Lovers Lane says:

Love the title and the concept. I think hope is what is missing in so many people’s lives, and it is important to keep it regardless of external appearances. Law of Attraction really. We get what we put out.

  13. My accountability group was just talking about hope the other day. This book sounds like it would be a good read for us. Thanks for sharing this at Mommynificent.com’s Booknificent Thursday! Always enjoy your contributions!
