A Lady Of Willowgrove Hall – Book Review
Is it always a sin to tell a lie?
That’s the question that 16-year old Cecily Faire asks herself as A Lady Of Willowgrove Hall opens – and that question sets the tone for the rest of Sara E. Ladd’s latest Regency novel!
The majority of A Lady Of Willowgrove Hall takes place in England during 1819 and revolves around two primary characters – Cecily Faire and Nathanial Stanton – two individuals whose lives and relationship are deeply impacted and intertwined by the weight of the secrets they carry from their individual pasts.
Cecily is struggling with the shame of her past and the fear of what a damaged reputation would mean to her as a woman.
Nathaniel is keeping secrets of his own – secrets that tie him to his father’s position as steward of Willowgrove Hall – secrets he must keep to protect his family.
What would happen if those secrets came to light? Would they be able to overcome their pasts and see the truth of their situations – or would they allow their pasts to ruin their future prospects?
It doesn’t matter who we or what our individual challenges are – good writing and good story-telling transcends time and place.
I thoroughly enjoyed A Lady Of Willowgrove Hall – the third book in Sara’s Whispers On The Moors series – even though I have not read the previous two books in the series!
If you are a fan of Jane Austen, Jane Eyre and Regency novels, I heartily recommend A Lady Of Willowgrove Hall to you!
