Masterpiece Marriage – Book Review
If you’re ready to warm your heart with a good, old-fashioned love story, then find a cozy spot to curl up for a few hours – the latest release in the Quilts Of Love series from Abingdon Press is here!
Masterpiece Marriage by Gina Wellborn takes us to Philadelphia in 1891, to a period in history where opportunities for women were limited and choosing between a man and a career meant sacrifices most of us could never imagine.
In this story, we meet Mary Varrs – an ambitious young woman who’s more interested in studying the growth pattern of tomato seedlings than finding a suitable mate – and Zenus Dane – a textile mill owner whose looms have been recently damaged in a flood.
Both Mary and Zenus need the help of Zenus’s Aunt – Priscilla Dane Osbourne – to achieve their goals. But – unbeknownst to either of them – Aunt Priscilla has other plans of her own. She wants to design a masterpiece marriage between the two of them! Of course, nothing ever comes together easily, and that’s where the fun of the story begins!
Masterpiece Marriage is an enjoyable story that involves the dynamic of match-making between characters who aren’t looking for love and the matchmaker’s challenge of overcoming the obstacles they put forth. Fans of the Quilts For Love series will welcome this addition to their collection – particularly when they see the beautiful cover (my favorite of all of the books that I have read to date!)
If you like sweet romances set in unusual historical settings, you will enjoy this story!
I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Wow…you have been busy, my friend! Sounds like a WONDERFUL series! Can they be read as standalones?
Yes, that’s the beauty of the Quilts of Love Series – each book is written by a different established author, and each one stands alone – the unifying theme in the series is that each story has a quilt theme woven into it that is integral to the plot!
Abingdon Press releases a couple of these each month. They are relatively short (200 pages or so) and easy to read and each one is unique!
