Unplanned – Book Review
Have you ever made an important life decision based on information you thought was factual, only to discover that the things you believed in were not what they appeared to be?
Did you recognize, in that moment, that you had a choice to make – a choice that would forever impact your life?
Were you willing to follow your convictions and face the consequences, even if it meant a firestorm would ensue?
Meet Abby Johnson – a modern-day woman who wasn’t afraid to walk across the coals.
Unplanned by Abby Johnson is the true life story of a former Planned Parenthood Director and Employee Of The Year who worked for the organization for eight years because – as an administrator – she believed in the organization’s goals.
Her perspective changed, however, on the day that she was unexpectedly invited into the room by the medical team to assist with an actual procedure.
What she witnessed in that room profoundly affected and forever changed her.
Shortly thereafter, she crossed the picket line and ultimately left the organization – a decision which led to life-and-death encounters, courtroom battles, and profound spiritual transformation.
No matter what your personal beliefs on this subject are, Unplanned is a compelling story that is written from the unique vantage point of a woman who has experienced, up-close, both sides of the story.
For those who find this topic difficult to broach, you’ll find that Unplanned is well written, sensitively handled, and worth the read.
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
