Aoléon The Martian Girl: Part 1 First Contact – Book Review
Are you looking for a unique story to pique your reluctant middle grade reader’s interest? If so, then Aoléon The Martian Girl – a 5-part science-fiction/fantasy saga written and illustrated by Brent LeVasseur – is the reading adventure to send your child on!
Aoléon The Martian Girl: Part 1, First Contact introduces us to Gilbert Sullivan – a young Nebraskan boy whose strange and repetitive nightmares lead him to the discovery of a friendly if somewhat mischievous Martian girl named Aoléon.
As the two begin to communicate telepathically, a friendship between Gilbert and Aoléon develops. Of course, they don’t have much time to stand around shooting the breeze. Before long, next-door neighbor Farmer Johnson and his three-legged dog Tripod are in hot pursuit of the alien who’s been leaving crop circles in his fields!
Aoléon The Martian Girl: Part 1, First Contact takes us on a fun-filled, fast-paced action adventure where we partake in both harrowing and humorous encounters on Gilbert’s home world (Earth) as well as an unexpected journey to Aoléon’s world (Mars). There, they are recruited for a dangerous mission by a Martian fugitive that leads us directly into the next part of the saga: Aoléon The Martian Girl: Part 2, The Luminess Of Mars.
Adding to the excitement of this story are the author’s stunning surrealistic illustrations, which truly make you feel like you have left Nebraska and stepped into another world.
Flying cows, what are you waiting for? For pure fun and escapism, make first contact with Aoléon and begin your other-worldly adventures!
I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.
