Aoléon The Martian Girl: Part 4 Illegal Aliens – Book Review
Unless you’ve been circling the outer reaches of Alpha Centauri or living under a moon rock, you’ve probably heard the buzz about Brent LeVasseur’s science fiction series Aoléon The Martian Girl by now.
It’s thrilling.
It’s mind-boggling!
It’s the zany, must-read middle-school sci-fi/fantasy story of the year!
In Aoléon The Martian Girl: Part 4 Illegal Aliens, the wild adventures of Aoléon and Gilbert continue…
As Part 4 Illegal Aliens opens, our protagonists find themselves in quite a pickle. Their true identities are known to the Luminon – they are considered enemies of the state – and the Luminon has poured all of his resources into locating Aoléon and Gilbert, the new faces of the Martian resistance movement.
To make matters worse, Aoléon’s parents have been taken prisoner and are being held in a secret Xiacrom detention center underneath the Great Pyramid of Cyadonia where they are being charged with high treason.
And, if this wasn’t bad enough to put a damper in their day, the Luminon has spread false propaganda to garner Martian support for an invasion against Terra (Earth).
Knowing that this task may be a little much for a teenage Earth boy and a mischievous Martian girl to take on by themselves, the ever-resourceful Aoléon calls upon Bizwat – her friend, the local pizza delivery boy who just happens to be an undercover Procyon warrior as well – and seeks his help.
Bizwat is less than enthused by the offer:
Let me get this straight…you want the three of us to cross the Martian desert, sneak into the most heavily guarded military installation on Mars, bypass ALL the battalions of soldiers, ALL the sentinels, ALL the paladins, ALL the force fields, and not to mention do battle with Cerberus himself?!
And I do not even want to think about all the really nasty things he will do to us if we are caught!
Of course, even against his better judgement, Bizwat cannot leave a damsel in distress, so he joins the quest with his Martian and Terran friend – and so begins the start of the many adventures you’ll experience in Aoléon The Martian Girl in Part 4 Illegal Aliens!
To find out what happens, you’re going to have to read the story. It’s too good to spoil by spilling any more of the oh so juicy details. But there is one thing you need to know:
Illegal Aliens is NOT a standalone book! To understand the events that have led up to this juncture – and to truly appreciate the world that Brent has created – you have to read the entire story from start to finish!
It’s worth it just to pour over the full-color illustrations – lovingly created by the author himself – that make Aoléon’s world come to life!
The further I go into this story, the more I enjoy this series and appreciate the fantastical world Brent has created!
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
