Welcome To Wordless Wednesday At Create With Joy!
Quote Of The Week
When dogs leap onto your bed,
It’s because they adore being with you.
When cats leap onto your bed,
It’s because they adore your bed!
Alisha Everett
The Bed Hogs Are Back!
They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder and oh, it’s true! Whenever I’m stretched out comfortably across my bed and have half a chance of getting a good night’s rest, I get lonely and miss the companionship of my precious cats.
Be careful what you wish for!
The bed hogs wait until the bed is warm and toasty – when you leave your cozy comforter behind for “just for a moment” to fill your water or adjust the heat – and then, they take over the bed!
They crawl onto the pillows. They sprawl across the center of the bed. They snuggle under the sheets into big round balls. They weigh themselves down so you cannot budge them.
They avoid eye contact when you try to sweet talk them into sharing space or give you that “don’t mess with me” look should you be bold enough to try to relocate them off the bed!
They amuse themselves from their positions of comfort as you twist yourself up into pretzel-like poses trying to accommodate them – or invent new ways to torment love you as they climb you like Mount Everest with their heavy paws!
Yes, the Bed Hogs are back… yet somehow, yet somehow, there’s no place I’d rather they’d be!

That’s true Teresa – there’s not that many places that can accommodate them, they are both so big!
Great quote.
Remember it is their world, we just provide the food dish.

They are reminding me of this more and more Patrick!
How sweet! I love snuggling with my kitty. Thanks for hosting. Have a great week!

Hi Y’all!
Handsome kitty. And no, I’m no bed hog. My Humans have made sure I have plenty soft, plush beds scattered around, so I don’t need to crowd into theirs. Matter of fact, I’ve never tried.
Y’all come on by,
Hawk aka BrownDog

Ah Hawk, you are SUCH a good boy!
Almost too good to your humans to be true! 🙂
I don’t have the concerns you wrote about, but I loved reading about your bed hogs.

Thanks Karen – I bet you sleep a lot better at night than I do! 🙂
Soooo true. But a cat looks adorable while sleeping.

I love watching my cats sleep!
Hi Ramona!
I agree with the poem!! Although Lady has done the unimaginable…she has wormed her way into our bedroom at night and now sleeps ON me. Prior to Lady, hubby didn’t allow any cats in our room at night! 😉
Have a great day!

Way to go Lady! Those bed hogs make you feel very loved, even as they make you feel very stiff and suffocated…
Yes, I have feline bed hogs too. One likes to sleep in the middle, horizontally, so sometimes I have to sleep horizontally too. Good thing I’m less than 5′ tall because I fit.
Thanks.

The other night I just couldn’t get comfortable and I finally realized why:
Magellan had stretched out horizontally across the bed and had me hanging off the edge to accommodate him!
When both cats are on the bed, they like to sleep on opposite sides / ends so I really have no shot of comfort.
And don’t even get me started on hubby – the biggest bed hog of them all! 🙂

My dog sleeps in the crook of my knee every night. If I move, she wakes up, circles, and gets back in.

Bentley isn’t allowed on the bed because it is too high and he could hurt his back. Pierre is our bed hog. He starts off in a little circle and once we are asleep, he gradually stretches out!
I love that quote by Alisha Everett! Mister Cat doesn’t sleep in our bed – he just can’t stay quiet at night. But on the weekends in the morning we let him hang out with us on the bed and he’s also a bed hog!

Ours always manage to hog the bed too.
Thanks for good chuckles with that video. Okay, so we end up bed sharing all year round. with a minimum of five to six of the bed monsters. Misty May fights be for my pillow and Mauricio must sleep horizontally. Most nights I feel as if I am sleeping in a coffin. Unfortunately their dad and I lost control years ago. Hugs, Janet

I would think with all of your cats you’d just give up and sleep on an air mattress! 🙂
Glad you enjoyed the video – I thought it was a hoot!
Hi! Oh what sweet photo and video! And a beautiful blog you have! No, I don’t have any pets but would love to have a puppy.
This is my first time visiting here. I came across your blog through a blogger friend of mine. I share a fun family Veteran’s Day craft project I did with my kids. It’s for an elderly neighbor of mine who is a retired Veteran. I look forward to visiting you again.

I just visited your blog – what an amazing tradition you’ve started with your kids!
I love your project and hope you’ll join us again – I love people like you who spread joy to those around you! 🙂

Have a wonderful day!

Yes and they take full advantage of that!
Nothing like a good bed hog and cuddle to make you feel loved. Kilo and my husband both snore and hog LOL

That’s so funny – the sounds of comfort!
I have four bed hogs in my life, 3 young kids and 1 orange cat!

Kids love to hog the bed too! No wonder moms never sleep!
Such a cute photo! I do have a kitty that sleeps with me every night. I wouldn’t say he’s a bed hog though because he sleeps on top of me. 🙂

Love that Robin! Magellan sleeps on me sometimes and it warms my heart. Because he is so big, however, he eventually slides off.
I enjoy the moment while it lasts – or until my body parts go numb!
Ha – so so true! My husband works nights and the cat will snuggle up on his side of the bed whenever he is gone. but if I get up to go to the bathroom or something? he sneaks over to the warm side!! so sneaky. LOL

Got to love it – that’s just like a cat!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog yesterday! I came back to share another creation. This one is my 7 years old daughter’s Veteran’s Day art work that she did for our Veteran neighbor, Mr. Bob. As a mom, it makes me very happy that she discovered her passion and ability at such young age and loving it. I pray she’ll never stop loving art as she grows older. I look forward to visiting you again in 2 weeks time. Wishing everyone a lovely week!

Love your daughter’s art Christina – look forward to your next visit!
Love that your cat is your muse!
When we had a dog, they used to always steal her bed. Sadly, she has passed now.
you are right :)..always love to see the cat’s photos here..so cute and adorable..
Oh yes, every bit of the house belongs to the cats. The dog can only have his desired spot if a cat is not their first.
of course they are….it’s cold and they want to be toasty warm! Have a comfy day!
