TextilBox Holiday Box Review
Are you looking for an innovative way to improve your sewing skills while creating a beautiful project to keep or give as a gift each month? Do you like receiving other crafty items in the mail as well?
If so, I’d like to introduce you to TextilBox – a DIY creative sewing box that’s delivered to your door!
Each TextilBox includes a project, complete with the pattern, materials and step-by-step instructions. It’s a wonderful way for novice and intermediates to improve their sewing skills, while creating a practical novelty gift!
The folks at TextilBox sent me their Holiday TextilBox to review. The contents came wrapped in festive cellophane paper.
When I opened the package, I found all of the materials needed to make a custom Christmas Cloth Gift Bag including the following:
- 1 Gorgeous Robert Kaufman 100% Cotton Fabric – Pattern “Holiday Flourish Metallic Pearl Swirl Scarlet” – approximately 26 x 60 cm
- 1 Lavish Gold Ribbon
- 1 Spool Of 100% Polyester DMC Bright Red Thread
- 1 Safety Pin
- 1 Sheet of Easy-To-Follow Instructions
Note that the difficulty level for this project is 1 out of 3 sewing machines, making it perfect for novices like me!
Here’s what the completed project looks like!
Even better – the Holiday TextilBox comes with a surprise DIY Christmas gift from Simple Stories – a scrapbooking company that helps you share your memories in a beautiful yet simple way! The Simple Stories project as shown is for a Bunting Banner – but these pieces are so cute, I’ll be using them for my cards, planners and scrapbooking projects!
TextilBox is a wonderful way for creative folks to:
- Receive a surprise in the mail each month
- Learn new skills without the inconvenience of leaving the house
- Create fun and practical gifts for throughout the year
One of the things that’s unusual about TextilBox is that you can purchase each project you want individually as a stand-alone box or you can sign up for an annual, 4-box subscription. I really like that TextilBox offers you the flexibility to create the projects you want in the way that makes the most sense for your creative lifestyle!
I also like that TextilBox teams up with other creative companies to provide you with extra crafty surprises!

Best of luck to you Nikki – thanks for joining the fun!
Lovely package, maybe something for me, but as I can’t sew at all I think it even might be to difficult. Love the cellophane wrapping. Vicky (#1)

Hi Vicky,
This project is designed for novices, but you could always pass the sewing project on to a friend who sews and keep the paper crafting goodies for yourself! 🙂
What a great box! Everything you need in one spot!

That looks like an interesting idea. What a shame I don’t live in the US.
Have a great week,

After taking a break from sewing for about a decade due to my kids breaking my machine, I am just getting back into sewing (hubby just bought me a new machine.) I love the idea of a project to go! I am relearning my skills but coming up with simple ideas on the fly can be hard when you are dragging a 3 year old through a fabric store! LOL It would be nice to just have something show up for me to do!
This sound like a great idea. since I started paper crafting I have not touch my sewing machine in years. I love this.
I love this box idea. All you need, no guess work. Great for my skill level. Going to the website now. Thanks for sharing this and your finished project. Lovely.
