The War Of Words by Amy Neftzger – Book Review
Are you ready to enter into an imaginative realm where the age-old battle of good against evil is waged by an evil sorcerer who uses words to confound communication among the king’s subjects and distort their perceptions of what is and isn’t real?
Are you ready to meet Kelsey, the young officer in the king’s army who engages in daily battles against the evil army of shadow creatures that the wicked sorcerer has created to do his bidding?
Are you ready to quest with Kelsey’s loyal but unusual group of friends as they search for a book that is rumored to hold the key to winning the battle – that is, if they can find someone who can read it?
These are a few of the adventures that await you in The War Of Words – a Young Adult Fantasy by Amy Neftzger that transports middle grade readers, teens and adults into a kingdom where nothing is quite what it seems!
Fans of the genre will enjoy meeting the unusual cast of characters who are waging war in the battle against shadows and words, the challenges their favorite characters must face along the way, and the humor that the author interjects throughout the book.
What surprised me was learning, along the way, that The War Of Words is actually the third book in The Kingdom Wars series by Amy Neftzger – something I did not realize when I started to read this book.
Although you can read The War Of Words as a standalone novel, you’ll probably learn more of the back-stories of the characters if you read the series in order – so fans of the genre should start with The Orphanage Of Miracles and follow up with The Orchard Of Hope to experience the full story.
If you’re looking for a book that’s imaginative, entertaining, and contains important lessons in the context of a fictional fantasy story, you’ll enjoy reading The War Of Words!
I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.
