Bossy Flossy by Paulette Bogan – Children’s Book Review
Do you have a strong personality – or know someone who does? Do you have trouble understanding why others won’t listen to a word you have to say or follow your lead when all you want to do is help? Do you feel that you offer the solutions that other people need – but can’t understand why other people treat you like you’re part of the problem?
If so, then you’ll probably relate to the story of Bossy Flossy!
Flossy is a bright young girl who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to express her desires or opinions – but tact and diplomacy aren’t her strongest points. You might say that others see her as strong-willed, petulant and demanding – but Flossy believes that they are the ones with a problem, not her!
That is, until she meets Edward.
Edward is the male counterpart of Flossy. He’s just as demanding, opinionated, and bossy as she! At first they are friends – but before long, even Flossy exclaims to the overly demanding Edward that “You are not the boss of me!”
Sometimes we need to see ourselves and our actions mirrored through others before we can learn how others are perceiving us and learn from the experience.
Will Flossy and Edward’s friendship survive their propensity to out-boss one another? What insights about herself will Flossy gain through her relationship with Edward?
Bossy Flossy is a fun yet educational book that will delight parents and children alike with its big, bright colorful illustrations of the characters and the easy-to-read yet real-to-life dialog and situations portrayed throughout the book.
If you have a strong-willed child in your midst that you’d like to education through story-telling, not lecturing, than I recommend you introduce them to Bossy Flossy pronto!
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

We actually have a little girl in our playgroup who is quite bossy – luckily most of the time we’re able to say she has great leadership skills, but that’s a fine line…
Hehe. Sounds like some kids I know!
Hmnn, yes, I can think of some bossy people in my life! Cheers from kidcandoodle!
