All Hands On Pet! by Susan E Davis Book Review

Pets are like people, says Tsunami. We need to eat well, get lots of rest, and enjoy a little physical exercise each day to stay in tip top shape!

“To a pet, movement is life”, says dog health advocate Jana Rade – and helping pets retain, maintain, and regain the quality of their lives through physical movement and physical therapy is Susan E. Davis’s life’s work.

All Hands On Pet

In her book All Hands On Pet! Your How-To Guide On Home Phsyical Therapy Methods For Pets, Susan provides pet owners with a comprehensive guide to the latest techniques on physical therapy for animals as well as how to care for your pets during every stage of their lives.

While a good bit of this book deals with rehabiliatative techniques, as you might glean from the title, what surprised me about this book is that there is a fair bit of information that is preventative in nature. Susan also covers topics such as puppy and kitten care, massage, diet, and end of life care that you might not expect to find in this book.

All Hands On Pet! is instructional in nature, with black and white photos to help you learn the techniques Susan is teaching. There are also “tales of courage” at the end of the book that highlight some of the amazing animals Susan has worked with over the years.

While this book may be a little too specialized for the general reader, if you are a serious pet parent who is interested in learning everything you can about keeping your precious pet in top notch shape, or if you have a pet who is not operating at full capacity due to an injury or accident, you will find All Hands On Pet! an invaluable resource.

You can learn more about All Hands On Pet! or pick up a copy at Amazon.

Disclosure: We received a complimentary copy of this book for review from the publisher.

I’ll tell you, your kitty has to be the most prettiest kitty I have ever seen and so fluffy! I’d love to cuddle up to him on a cold winter’s night for sure! As far as what you asked Movement or massage? Charlie wants it all! hahaha He doesn’t ask for lovin’ , he demands it, but this evening I’ve very proud of my puppy. He usually runs away if he’s off the leash, but this time he got away from my hubby ran across the street, but then I came out and called him back… he did his business and ran straight into the house. That’s the first time he ever came back home once he got away and I hope it’s because I called him not just because it’s so darn cold. FINGERS CROSSED! Have a good one girlfriend!!!

  5. Pawkisses for a Happy Wordless Wednesday 🙂 <3

Movement is crucial, and massage is certainly important for socializing plus identifying medical issues – bumps, sore areas, etc. I would guess they go hand and paw for a healthy pet! Thank you for hosting.

  9. Always interested in natural care. Our dogs use chiro and massage.

This book sounds like a fantastic resource for pet care. People are moving more and more towards natural care for both themselves and their pets. I think that we all benefit from human touch. Massage is very beneficial.

  13. Amber says:

My cat Misha loves to run around the house and act crazy. I can’t imagine her ever slowing down, but I know that she will someday. This book could be really useful down the road – when my budget allows, I’d love to buy it!
