Friend Of The Week – Lisa at Fresh Vintage

When you’re raised by antique dealers, it’s pretty hard to not grow up with a love of all things vintage – so it’s probably was no surprise when Lisa, the blogger behind Fresh Vintage By Lisa S, started a blog where she shares her love of all things refreshed and refurbished!

Lisa wears many hats. In the “real world”, Lisa is a California girl, a fitness instructor, and a mom of two – but on her own time, Lisa loves to thrift shop, collect “junk”, create gifts for her holiday boutique, and wrangle chickens!

Fresh Vintage is a great blog to visit when you’re looking for creative ways to repurpose the treasures in your home (or in other people’s garages that somehow end up in yours!) For instance, as Lisa was putting away her Christmas ornaments this year, she couldn’t help but notice that she had a lot of bright and shiny red, pink, silver and gold ornaments that really didn’t belong in their storage box. The next thing you know, a light bulb went off in Lisa’s head and voila! She created a pretty, sparkly Valentine Wreath to grace her front door! Seriously – how many of us have done anything as innovative as that?

Lisa - Linen Stash

Then there’s the crazy quilt and the huge stash of linens and handkerchiefs she scored for $10 at a yard sale. What do you do with all of that? Well, if you’re Lisa, you immediately begin to identify the unique details on each piece and brainstorm creative ways to incorporate them as embellishments in your Junk Journals and scrapbooks, as well as use them for gift wrapping, banners, decoupage and collage projects, cards and tags, stationery and more!

Making and supporting new friends is one of life’s greatest pleasures. Be sure to visit Lisa this week, explore more of the creative ideas she’s shared on her blog, and congratulate her for being our Friend Of The Week at Friendship Friday at Create With Joy?

  10. Joanne says:

I used to read rhyming books to all my boys all the time. Rhyme and predictable text helped them all learn to read.

  11. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful weekend.

  12. I’m jumping in! I’ve visited a few times, but I don’t think I ever added a link to my blog. I’m Jen – mother of 3 (including 3-year old twins), an “everyday” homeowner passionate about learning how to take care of our old house (so it will last for another century).

I blog about whatever new adventure we are currently tackling at the house, whether it be researching the history of my old house, developing a family fire escape plan or installing a new backyard fence.
