Friend Of The Week – Amy’s Creative Pursuits
Now that we’re nearing the end of October, it’s finally starting to feel like Autumn in Southern California. For the next few days, we’ll be experiencing a few days of temperatures in the 70s before they creep back up into the 80s next week. Of course, the trees are still relatively green, with just the hint of brown and yellow here and there. That’s what I miss most about living on the East Coast – the spectacular Fall Foliage that this season so magnificently brings!
That’s why, this week, we’re celebrating lifestyle blogger Amy Johnson, who writes about fashion, travel, gardening, card-making, Bible Journaling, home décor and more at Amy’s Creative Pursuits. Amy resides with her husband in the beautiful state of Wisconsin. Over the next few weeks, Amy will be sharing their adventures and photos as they explore several hiking trails across the state. Trust me, you won’t want to miss a single post!
For their first adventure, Amy and hubby ventured across the Ice Age Trail – one of America’s eleven National Scenic trails. This off-road hiking trail follows the edges of the last continental glacier in North America. The 4.5 mile portion of the trail that they hiked was filled with many rustic bridges and more lakes than you could count. Amy says that the colors were gorgeous during the two-week period that they visited the trail, and that it is even more spectacular if you visit the trail earlier!
Our intrepid explorers also visited Brunet Island State Park, where they also beheld many scenic water and island views and encountered enchanted forest spaces. Amy’s photographs are simply breath-taking and leave me longing for a hike through the woods of my own! To see all of Amy’s photos, visit Fall Hiking Week One: The Ice Trail and Brunet Island State Park.
Making new friends is one of life’s greatest pleasures. Be sure to visit Amy this week, explore her blog, and congratulate her for being our Friend Of The Week at Friendship Friday at Create With Joy?

Thanks for hosting this blog party. I will enjoy seeing Amy’s pictures, as I am myself an avid photographer, and love exploring the great outdoors!
Happy Friday. Thanks for hosting 🙂
It’s so lovely to learn a bit more about Amy and her blog – and that scenery really is stunning! Oh to be in New England in the fall! Thank you for hosting the party, Ramona! Thank you for all you do! Have a great weekend!
Oh my gosh, thank you! What a beautiful write up of our adventures! I shared it to my FB page. We may have color, but I’m jealous of your warm weather. Winter came early this year and we got 6 inches of snow and temps in the 20s-30’s. All our beautiful fall colors are gone already. We will be heading out again this weekend a little farther south. We’re hoping there’s some color there. We are pretty bummed fall was cut short for us this year.
Thank you so much for hosting!
