What’s Your Word Of The Year?

2021 WORD OF THE YEAR - STRONG

Over the past decade, many of us have embraced the practice of selecting a Word Of The Year. Often, this word represents a theme that encapsulates the things we hope to focus on and the qualities we hope to embrace in the year to come.

This practice can be extremely useful in identifying what’s important to us right now. It can also help us to look back on our past and see how much we’ve grown. What One Word have you chosen to reflect upon and embrace in the past? Some words I’ve chosen as themes in previous years include Journey, Focus, Simplify and Listen.

Here are a few questions to consider when choosing your Word Of The Year:

  • What do I need more of in my life right now?
  • Who do I want to be or become?
  • What quality do I want more of in my life?
  • What change do I want to bring about?
  • What do I want this year to represent for me?

Ephesians 6-10 Be Strong In The Lord

For 2021, my Word of the Year is Strong. I also chose Ephesians 6:10 as my Verse of the Year to reinforce my theme. My over-arching goal for this year is to rocus on strengthening my personal foundation in all areas of my life.

Once you’ve chosen your word, identify some actions you’d like to take that will help you to incorporate your word into your life. Set some goals – break them down into specific, identifiable action steps – figure out what you need to do to accomplish them – create a plan – then schedule the time to do them (remember, you have all year to achieve this!)

What is your Word of the Year and why did you select it? Please share your posts and stories with us (along with your regular creations) and have fun visiting each other this week!
