Friend Of The Week – Selep Imaging
Happy March dear friends! Could you use some creative ideas for relaxing your mind throughout the day? If so, I’d like to introduce you to Jeanne Selep – the artist and photographer behind Selep Imaging. Jeanne – a mom of four twenty-somethings – is a voracious reader who spends her days “pursuing her artistic endeavors as a way of preserving her sanity!” She loves traveling and connecting with photography buffs, decorating and antique lovers, quilters and arts and crafts enthusiasts!
Selep Imaging is a joyful place to visit because you never know what lovely projects await you or what fun facts Jeanne is going to teach you! Did you know that the phrase “bluebird of happiness” refers to the idea that seeing a bluebird is an omen of good luck, joy or happiness? Be sure to look for bluebirds on your nature walks this spring. In the meantime, learn more fun bluebird facts and check out close-up shots Jeanne’s captured of the bluebirds who love to party in her backyard!
It’s obvious that those “bluebirds of happiness” have inspired many of Jeanne’s mosaic creations. Did you know that she actually created a stunning Mosaic Birdhouse for their pleasure? As much as I love the bluebirds, I’m glad she decided to keep this beautiful work inside!
Another artistic endeavor that pays homage to the beautiful bluebirds is Jeanne’s
Picassiette Mosaic Birds project. Picassiette is a type of mosaic that’s created using broken china (it’s Jeanne’s favorite type of mosaic!) Jeanne created these birds using vintage china she acquired from various resale venues, but she says it’s a great way to use chipped, damaged or broken china as well. If you’re looking for a new hobby to learn this spring, perhaps this is it!
Perhaps the project that’s inspiring me the most is Jeanne’s Spring Paper Tag Project. Not only are each of Jeanne’s tags delightful bursts of joy, but they have delightful history woven into them! I may have to schedule a day of paper play after reading the story behind this creation!
Making new friends and deepening existing relationships are a true blessing. Be sure to visit Selep Imaging this week, give Jeanne some comment love, and congratulate her for being our Friend Of The Week at Friendship Friday at Create With Joy!
