NIV Grace And Truth Bible – Review

NIV Grace And Truth Bibles 1

Every time you open a study Bible and read the study notes contained within it, you see Scripture not only through your eyes but also through the theological lens of the team who wrote the study materials. That means it’s really important to know who the editor of your study Bible is beforehand and what goals they have in mind as they are developing the editorial parts of the Bible.

With that in mind, many people will be excited to learn that the General Editor of Zondervan’s latest study Bible, the NIV Grace And Truth Bible, is none other than Dr. R. Albert Mohler Jr., the president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

If you are looking for a study Bible that affirms Christian orthodoxy and upholds evangelical, Reformed and complementarian views, then this is the Bible for you!

NIV Grace And Truth Bibles

Mohler believes that “grace” and “truth” are two of the most wonderful words in the Bible. He says:

Grace is the love God shows us despite our sin, and truth is the very foundation of our faith.

Our hope is that readers of the Bible will be able to see grace and truth revealed on every page of God’s Word.

The hardcover version of the NIV Grace And Truth Bible is quite attractive – it’s designed in a stylish navy and copper color scheme, with white paper and black print on the inside. As with most Bibles, the print was smaller than I would prefer, but the caliber of the study material makes the squint worthwhile. If you are truly interested in digging into the Word of God and reading God-honoring study notes of substance, you’ll find them in this Bible.

The NIV Grace And Truth Bible contains the following features:

  • Insightful and practical bottom-of-the-page study notes
  • Center-column cross reference system for deeper study
  • Comprehensive NIV concordance
  • Words of Jesus in red
  • 16 pages of full-color maps
  • Two satin ribbon markers
  • Smyth-sewn durable cloth over board edition lies flat when open
  • Exclusive Zondervan NIV Comfort Print typeface
  • 9-point print size for the biblical text and 8-point print size for the study notes

The NIV Grace And Truth Bible will enhance your spiritual growth regardless of where you are on your journey.

If you are looking for a theologically sound study Bible, I highly recommend this to you!

I rate this Bible 5 out of 5 stars.

Can you get a larger print version so you don’t have to squint and strain your eyes? Thanks for sharing your review with me 🙂

There is a large print version available but what you and I would consider large print and what most publishers consider large print are probably entirely different.

The font in the large print is 10-point print size for the biblical text and 8.5-point print size for the study notes.
(The font in the standard version is 9 point print size for the biblical text and 8 point print for the study notes).
