What Are Your Favorite Friends Up To This Week?
Happy September to you, dear friends! Although it has been blazing hot in California as we’ve been in the midst of an unprecedented heatwave, I remain hopeful that the cooler temps of Autumn are just around the corner! Speaking of which, I came across a wonderful quote from Vincent van Gogh that I wanted to share:
“As long as autumn lasts,
I shall not have hands, canvas and colors enough
To paint the beautiful things I see.”
Although we are still in the last days of summer, doesn’t that awaken your creative spirit and give you something to prepare for in these last transitional days?
One blogging bud whose creativity is awakened year-round resides online at My Seasonal Vibes, where we are reminded to “embrace beauty in our ordinary lives”. In her recent post, An Abundance Of Blessings, she shared the stunning photos she recently captured of the butterflies, bumblebees and hummingbirds that regularly flutter around the feeders in her backyard.
The butterflies were the inspiration for the stunning Romancing The Butterfly Quilt she created! You’ll find delightful photos and stories of the cats and dogs in her life and more of God’s beauty in nature reflected through her lenses – be sure to check out her blog!
Over at Karin’s Kottage, Karin has been creatively preparing for the Fall by creating Adorable Yarn Pumpkins! Karin says they are so easy to make, that your kids can create them as well! As you’ll see on your visit, Karin also has delightful ideas for displaying her creations. If you’re handy with a needle and a little yarn, why not give this project a try?
Penny of Penny’s Vintage Home has been sharing incredible photos of the sunflowers that grow in her home state of New Mexico! They grow wild and free in the fields… they grow tall and unfettered in her yard… and they serve as beautiful backdrops for Penny’s beautiful home décor!
One of my favorite projects of Penny’s is her Sunflower Wreath… don’t you love how she creatively incorporated the head of one of her oversized sunflower heads into the center of the wreath?
