As long as I can remember, I’ve had a love affair with fresh green beans – or string beans, as we used to call them. Not canned ones. Not frozen ones. Not fancy french cut ones. Just pure, unadulterated, fresh green beans – the only kind worth eating, in my book!
I’m always looking for new ways to prepare them – so when it came time to pick my final recipe for the Seasonal Swap Recipe Cookbook I participated in earlier this year, I turned to my favorite childhood vegetable. You can serve this wonderfully versatile dish as a holiday side, or as part of a Sunday supper or a family meal. Give it a try – it’s sure to become a favorite in your household, just as it is in mine!
