What’s Inspiring You This Week?
Here’s What’s Inspiring Me…

My One Thousand Gifts Gratitude Journal

Recently I shared that author Ann Voskamp
Inspired me to start a Gratitude Journal
In which I write about one thousand things
That I am thankful for.

The outpouring of love and encouragement
I have received in response has been beyond belief!

As a result, I will journal both privately and online –
Using certain entries in my private books as
Springboards for my public posts.

My first entry?
The Dedication Page.

Do you journal?
If so, what type of journals do you keep?
Please let us know!

Highlights From Week 22

Mel – The Yorkshire Fox
Card: Red, White & Blue

Card by Mel - The Yorkshire Fox

This week, I’d like to welcome Mel from
The Yorkshire Fox to Inspire Me Monday!
Mel wowed us from across the pond with
Her version of red, white and blue!

Beautiful job on that card, Mel –
I love your attention to details!

Speaking of details…
Have you met:

The Redhead Riter
Essay: The Devil Is In The Details Of Your Life Shoe

The Redhead Writer - Shoes

I love The Redhead Riter.
She never ceases to amaze me.
She reminds me you must never judge a post
By the amount of shoe ads that are
Plastered in a single post!

Contrary to first impressions…
She isn’t a shoe salesperson.
She isn’t married to one.
She isn’t Imelda Marcos writing under a pseudonym.
Hey, wait a minute…
Wasn’t Peg Bundy a Redhead?

In spite of her obvious shoe obsession…
And the fact that she will leave us wondering
What our lives would be like if we were  shoes…
I encourage you to read her post!

The Hemingway quote alone is
Worth the price of admission!
(And the rest is pretty darn good too!)

Debbie – Easy Natural Food
Recipe: Tangy Carrot-Apple Salad

Tangy Carrot-Apple Salad - Debbie - Easy Natural Food

If you are looking for a healthy salad
To rejuvenate you on a hot summer day,
Look no further than this fabulous salad
Debbie re-created from a Vegetarian Times recipe!
It looks divine and I can’t wait to try it!

Nina – Mama’s Little Treasure
Project: Father’s Day Banner Card

Nina - Mamas LIttle Treasures - Father's Day

Father’s Day is coming!
If you’d like to make a special project for Dad,
Look no further than Nina’s beautiful banner card!
She’s provided an easy-to-follow tutorial and
Her project is easily adaptable for any occasion!
Beautiful job Nina – thanks for the inspiration!

Donna – Tuesdays With Jesus
Devotional: Relax Your Grip

Tuesdays With Jesus

There are days when we feel depressed….
Times when we face situations
Where the outcome seems hopeless.

On these days, God does not give us permission to mope.
Instead, he says, “Do not be discouraged!”

In Relax Your Grip, Donna writes about how we can
Move past discouragement and hopelessness.

Thank you Donna for offering us hope and encouragement!

Tiffany – Don’t Waste The Crumbs
Recipe: Vanishing Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Vanishing Oatmeal Cookies - Dont Waste The Crumbs

Time for a sweet treat!
Tiffany discovered her husband was a magician
When she made these delicious cookies.
“Mr. Crumbs” made the entire pan of cookies
Disappear shortly after she made them!
If that isn’t an endorsement for delicious –
I’m not sure what is!

Talent is timeless.

I had a daily gratitude journal until I got hit by bad morning sickness, then it became too much effort. I haven’t gotten back into the daily gratitude routine, but I do weekly grateful posts on my blog and they work wonders for me. It’s amazing where gratitude can take you, isn’t it?

Good morning my friend! I linked up today but was sad to miss out on Friendship Friday last week ;o( We stared our VBS program last night and guess who is in charge ;o) so the past several days have been really crazy with all the preparations. Now that we’ve got that sorted out, I’m back to work this morning. Didn’t want to miss Inspire Me Monday so I’ve posted my link and am on my way to promote in the Ruby community and on our FB page.

Today I have posted pictures of the Grandpa version of the banner card, and will soon be working on a patriotic themed banner / wall hanging for July. Will be back on Wednesday! {{{BIG Hugs!}}} Nina

Ooooh I love to see your inspirations! And I’m tickled you’ve started a gratitude journal. It’s one of the single best things I’ve ever done. I can’t wait to look in more detail at the inspirational tidbits you’ve shared here (especially the carrot-apple salad). Thank you for sharing and for linking up with NOBH! Smiles –

  14. It’s such an honor to be featured! I’m looking forward to sharing the magician discovery with my husband too!!

A gratitude journal is a great idea! I am so tempted by the cookie recipe… I should be looking at the salad recipe, which looks fantastic, but I’m tempted by the cookies…

Aren’t we all, Lisa, aren’t we all? And you should have seen the Oreo Pops that I also wanted to highlight but I ran out of time and space…!!!

P.S. The way I see it, if you eat that healthy salad all day, you should feel no guilt enjoying the pleasure of those cookies – at least, that’s what I tell myself – tee hee! 🙂

Stir and heat until dissolved. Remove soap mixture from heat. In your bucket add 4 cups hot water and soap mixture. Mix, then add 1 gallon plus 6 cups of additional water to bucket. Stir. You can transfer it into your containers now. Use a large bucket with a lid or empty laundry bottles. I even used a mason jar. Let it sit for 24 hours before using. It will be a watery gel consistency. It may separate so shake before each use. I have been using this for a while now and haven’t had any problems.
