Question Of The Week
What impact does Social Media have on your blog?
Has it helped your blog grow?
Does it take time away from developing your blog?
What are your favorite types of Social Media?
Please share your thoughts this Friendship Friday!
My Answer
I am ambivalent when it comes to Social Media.
On the one hand,
I love using Social Media to
Meet people and connect with brands.
On the other hand,
It’s hard to be in two places at one time!
My favorite forms of Social Media are Twitter and Pinterest.

Host Your Next Party With
Thanks so much for hosting! I enjoy participating each week. As for social media, I think it has its good and bad points. The good include, obviously, being able to stay in touch with far away family and friends. The downside includes those who use it for illegal or immoral purposes and the “junior high” atmosphere. I didn’t like junior high when I was in it. I certainly don’t want that drama as an adult. lol. 🙂 Hope you have a great weekend! Many blessings, Lisa

Hi Lisa
Thanks for sharing your thoughs on Social Media this week! I know a lot of people enjoy using Social Media to keep in touch with family and friends. I agree that one must take precautions though due to the few bad apples out there!
Have a fabulous weekend as well! 🙂

Hi there Ramona! I wondered where you were today, my friend! But I am glad it was a later link up because with all the 31 Day posts it is challenging to keep up and also keep it “thought-provoking”! My favorite Social Media is Facebook! If I did not already right up tomorrows post and todays I would probably do it to link! If I do on Sunday I will be sure and link! I guess that’s why they call it a Blog Challenge…Have a wonderful weekend! I want to share a post with you that I wrote because it is about one of my favorite subjects: sharks…I know- I am a quirky chick! Here it is: http://beneaththesurface-dawn.blogspot.com/2012/10/absolute-truth-sin-and-jaws-faith-like.html
Have a great weekend!

Hi Dawn,
Sorry I’m late in posting… I am doing my best to get Friendship Friday back on its regular posting schedule! 🙂
I am glad that you like Facebook! I am Facebook challenged! It remains on the list of things to possibly do…
Have a fabulous week & I hope you have time to delve into the topic in depth! 🙂

I do that too sometimes… lol!
Don’t worry… makes your comment look “homey”! 🙂
I’m not much for social media. I find it to be quite superficial for the most part. But Facebook has been helpful for reconnecting with old friends and I really enjoy Pinterest but can’t get there often these days.

Hi Nicole
Hope your weekend is off to a fabulous start! I’m not on FB but I agree that a lot of people seem to use it to connect with old friends.
I also like Pinterest and have had to limit my time there as I could easily lose hours there if I did not monitor my time!
I believe that social media, like the Internet, can be used for good, for evil, or for spending time in pursuits that are not in themselves bad but that can keep us from God’s best. May we all use them wisely! Thanks for hosting this lovely community, & God bless!

Hi Laurie,
I agree that the Internet can be used for much good (although that is not usually the aspect of Social Media that gets talked about!)
In November, I am looking forward to participating in a Book Tour for a soon-to-be-released e-book from Laura Krokos and Angi Pratt called “How To Use Your Social Media For The Glory Of God”. I think that this book will be of interest to you and a lot of my readers and can hardly wait for its arrival!
Have a fabulous weekend… and if you’d like to use your blog and social media for a good cause – please check out my International Day Of The Girl post at http://www.create-with-joy.com/2012/10/international-day-of-the-girl.html
Thanks for the great topic.
Thanks for the link up and chance to meet some friends!

Thank you so much for highlighting my post last week 🙂
Here is this weeks post
I have had no luck with social media, most of the people who follow me have come from blog hops/link ups. Hmmm this might also be a form of social media? I love Pintrest, and Facebook allows me to keep in touch with family and friends both in Chicago, and West Tennessee.
I totally agree with your social media thoughts. I love it but it is hard to balance it all! Stopping by from SITS! 🙂

Oh that social media button I am not sure it works. I have a met a lot of people using this tool to get my blogging traffic up. I love facebook as it gives me a change to catch up with family and friends. Stumble upon I am still trying to figure out. Than their is twitter and linkedin which I use sometimes which helps. So the question is to social media or not as there is so much out there? Hope you are having a great weekend thanks for the link.

I’m probably a bit of a social media addict. I love Facebook for keeping up with relatives and long-time friends (and for promoting blog posts). I probably have the most fun, though, on Pinterest and Twitter. I’m definitely addicted to Pinterest! 😉
Hi! I was gonna follow you from Mom’s Monday Mingle but I’m already a follower! I love your Monday and Friday parties. Thanks for hosting!

Thanks so much Mary – I appreciate the complement! 🙂
It definitely brings traffic to my blog but it also takes time away from blogging too since you must interact on social media. It’s a double edge sword. I would say Twitter is the best with the blog and Google+ a close 2nd as Pinterest is catching up. Facebook is a must place to be but seems to work better with family and friends.
Hi, havn’t stopped by in awhile but I am actually stopping by from the Blogaholic Halloween Hop and I added my blog to your linky as well 🙂 Also started following you on Google+ I think I already follow you everywhere else!
have a great day!
