I am sure you have heard that
Behind every successful man there is a woman
Which leads one to ponder:
Who is behind every successful woman?
If so, let today’s evidence remove all doubts:
The answer, of course, is a cat!
The proof is in the photo, as they say.
Now I, Legend, am not fond of the paparazzi,
But every now and then, they capture a moment
That really is worth 1000 words!
(Of course, I can convey its essence in far fewer words than that!)
Let the evidence show that when Mom is not around,
I am the one who runs the show!
Today the paparazzi caught me deep in thought,
Reviewing ideas and plans for the upcoming months,
Overseeing the calendar,
Setting priorities,
Deciding what stays and what goes!
This is the reason why cats always need to nap
When their humans show up,
It’s exhausting living nine lives
And running theirs too!
This is also the reason that the best laid plans
Of mice and men often go awry.
They keep the counsel of dogs, not cats!
In the words of Hippolyte Taine:
I’ve met many thinkers and many cats,
But the wisdom of cats is infinitely superior.

I got in trouble with him yesterday for letting his food bowl get empty (he does not like to eat the crumbs!)

Thanks for another great W.W.! I love what Legend had to say. Today Prince looked me straight in the eyes while sitting near his food bowl, and then I realized he was saying, “So, when are you going to feed me.” This was not a question, but a statement. I got right to it, of course!
I was in DEEP trouble yesterday when I arrived home (after enjoying a meal out with my husband) to find Legend on the table, giving me “The Stare”, as well as a piece of his mind about the crumbs in his food bowl!
I left hubby on duty to feed him and apparently, he neglected that duty!
Of course, I was the one that heard about it for what seemed like hours on end!
(My rather guilty husband DID wash he bowl out!)
This, he says, is yet another instance of why HE is in charge!
I totally agree with your theory…Behind every great woman is a cat! Legend is also gorgeous. Thanks for hosting WW!

What a beautiful kitty pouring over his calendar and agenda. I’m thinking he may be a perfect husband for my little Kashmir. We may need to set them up on a little blind date! 🙂

Well, Legend, if what you say is true, I must be wildly successful for I am blessed with three wonderfully smart and beautiful cats … all of which hate the Paparazzi as well. I can see in your picture that you are indeed a thinker and a planner. Your Mom is truly blessed because , as you said, she is very successful because you are there (among other things:) This was a really good post … Enjoyed the reality of it:)
