A Match Made In Texas – Book Review

Do you love good, clean romance stories set in the Wild, Wild West? Do you appreciate characters that make choices based on their Christian faith? Are you looking for some good, light-hearted fun? If so, I have a great book to share with you!

A Match Made In Texas – A Novella Collection contains four stories – each just over 100 pages in length – about four young women in dire straits who are about to meet the most unlikely of suitors – all due to the meddling of an unknown but well-intentioned busybody!

Here’s an overview of each of the stories:

A Cowboy Unmatched – the first novella – is written by Karen Witemeyer. I reviewed Stealing The Preacher and enjoyed it so much, I included it on my Best Fiction Books Of 2013 list! In that book, Crockett Archer is the preacher who is stolen. In this story, we meet Neil Archer – Crockett’s younger brother – as his world collides with the very pregnant widow, Clara Danvers.

An Unforseen Match – the second novella – is written by Regina Jennings, the only new-to-me author in the book. In her story, we meet Grace O’Malley – a former teacher who has lost her sight and has put out to pasture, so to speak, on Clara Danver’s former homestead – and Clayton Weber, an out-of-towner who is passing and in need of a horse.

No Match For Love – the third novella – was written by Carol Cox, author of Trouble In Store. In this story, circumstances force Lucy Benson to leave town – and a persistent suitor behind – to seek employment in a neighboring town. When she arrives, however, the situation is not what she expected – and she is in for more than she bargained for!

Meeting Her Match by Mary Connealy – author of Fired Up – is the final novella. In this story, a young woman’s world is turned upside down by the thoughtlessness of her uncaring father… and she must come to terms with the hand that life has dealt her!

I enjoyed this book for a number of reasons:

• Each novella is written by a well-established author.
• The stories take place in the same general location and time.
• The characters in each story connect to one another.
• Some of the characters connect to stories in other books by the authors!
• You don’t know how is doing the match-making until the end of the book.
• The ending contains a delightful twist that is sure to surprise you!

If you are a fan of one or more of these authors, you will want to read A Match Made In Texas.

If you are a fan of Western romances, you will enjoy A Match Made In Texas.

If you are curious about the genre, A Match Made In Texas provides a perfect introduction to four leading writers in the field!
